WANTED: A Protective WALL OF A MILLION
BROTHERS/SISTERS AROUND IMAM JAMIL AL-AMIN
A flood of email came in supporting the Day of Protest and Sorrow
(March 24). The groundwork for the liberation of Imam Jamil al-Amin also
began locally at places around the country. Each mosque, inshallah, will make
some contribution to this cause. A rare unity has emerged;nyc-net distributed
all three of our press releases plus Br. Kaukab's letter to msnbc. Inin.net
did a pretty good job too (though with some finicky editing). Our message was
even mentioned in The Final Call.
The role of smaller, individual and group emailing was decisive. A
long list of such "smaller" egroups helped us to create the unity. The next
step is to go to non-Muslim readers and gather their support.
Some brothers/sisters are debating CAIR/AMC's negative role related
to the oppression of Imam Jamil by the government. These brothers/sisters
will be better able to make a decision if they put the CAIR/AMC "surrender"
and "we will monitor" statements, in the context of their ongoing role.
DECENT PEOPLE DO NOT GO AND HAVE IFTAR WITH MADELEINE ALBRIGHT AND CLINTON.
On Eid, when beloved Shaikh Omar 'Abdel Rahman was sealed into an
isolation cell, these persons went and celebrated Eid with Clinton WHO HAS
ISSUED A SPECIAL EXECUTIVE ORDER TO SEAL OFF THE SHAIKH FROM all outside
contacts. The only reason CAIR etc are in a defensive position is owing to
the break of their censorship by internet. Their arrogance has still not
brought out an apology from them, although Muslims are supposed to seek
forgiveness of the people they have wronged.
They would not even make a du'a for Shaikh Omar in the mosques they
control and instead went to the Jews to claim that "we" have nothing to do
with the Shaikh. (No doubt CAIR/AMC have done many good things too, but who
has not? Even the Christians and Jews have done good. A Muslim is known to be
a Muslim by saying a clear "LA" (no) to the oppressors and false gods.)

Instead of wasting time on these infiltrators, a broad unity of
Muslims across the country, along with Christian, Socialist and nationalist
friends, can be brought about if we work on a national and international
level.

PROPOSAL: A HUMAN CHAIN OF SUPPORT FOR IMAM JAMIL AL-AMIN, starting with the
collection of ONE MILLION SIGNATURES calling for his UNCONDITIONAL release.
During protests, prayers, sit-ins, rallies, we should be able to collect
these signatures. Let us try to get 100,000 signatures each from: Brooklyn,
Manhattan/Queens, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles,
Houston, Cleveland, Pittsburg, with smaller numbers from others.

FOR ASSOCIATIONS or ORGANIZATIONS: On our literature, endorsing
organizations, groups, etc. will be listed by alphabetical order, as equally
respected brothers and sisters.

PROPOSED PETITION FOR ONE MILLION SIGNATURES:
1. An independent commission of inquiry should be set up to study the
incident(s) in which Imam Jamil al-Amin has been accused by the police/FBI.
The entire background and facts/witness reports must be published over a
period of one year.
2. The FBI must release its file on Imam Jamil Al-Amin, uncensored. (Remember
that before Malcolm X, Al-Hajj Malik Shabazz, was murdered, the FBI built up
a massive file on him).
3. The Imam, Jamil al-Amin, must be freed unconditionally and there must be
no intererence with his efforts to develop his Islamic community.
4. The Imam must be called by his Islamic name. MSNBC and other media which
have been using his pre-Islamic name, H. Rap Brown, have insulted him and
must apologize. When the Imam says, I am Jamil al-Amin, and the media Jews
turn around and say: He is Rap Brown! that is an insult and a pre-judgement.
5. We hereby affirm that Imam Jamil al-Amin is a symbol of Islamic and
African struggle, for the International Islamic Ummah and the African
Diaspora.
