U.S. Persuades India-Pakistan to Concentrate on Islamic "extremists"

Iran Gaining from Moves against Islamists: Links with Musharref to Improve
First Two Attacks on Government targets in Pakistan

{VIOLATION OF INTERNATIONAL LAW: Pakistani "president" Musharref handed over Afghan ambassador Abdus Salam Zaeef to the U.S. Such actions are unheard of in international relations and have stained the history of Pakistan - Pakistani observers say.}
{He wants the $25 million reward. Four days back, a person turned up at the U.S. positions in Kandahar claiming to know the whereabouts of Osama and Mullah Omar. He is identified as a "drug lord." The Taliban banned poppy production.}

Our Pakistani observers say that the U.S. seems to have persuaded Musharref and Vajpayee that they should work together to fight Islamic "extremists". The Bush administration wants India to use its army only for the "Arafat syndrome" to persuade Musharref to be diligent in working against the Islamists. For the U.S., eradication of the Islamic movement is the key issue. India's dream of putting an end to Pakistan itself is seen as counterproductive.

In fact the Bush administration sees Indian moves as helping the Islamists. The Indian threat actually helps the Jihad movement in Pakistan IF IT BECOMES A REAL THREAT.

As a BOGUS THREAT it is very useful because it helps Musharref to hold the Pakistani people hostage on the plea that "If I do not move against the extremists, India will attack."
-------------------------------------------------------
After carrying out 2000 arrests including moves against authentic jihadist movements such as Lashkare Tayba, Musharref is now looking for allies among the anti-Jihad groups. Lashkare Tayba is an independent Islamic movement which grew like wildfire in every Pakistani town owing to its tremendous sacrifices to help the Kashmiri people. Its opponents claim that it was a creation of the army: There is no such evidence of "creation." The Lashkar has support in every segment of Pakistani society including some in the army. It's agenda is hundred percent Qur'an and Sunnah and its open support for jihad placed it ahead of all Islamic groups in Pakistan.

MUSHARREF is looking to MQM in Karachi for support. This is an anti-Pakistan group and its leader Altaf Hussain is reported (by leading Pakistani daily Nawa-e-Waqt) as preparing to visit India.

Secondly MUSHARREF is preparing to improve ties with Iran to refurbish the tiny but wealthy Shi'ite population of Pakistan as a counterweight to the Jihadists.

Recently the British paper THE OBSERVER described the treatment of Islamic prisoners by the U.S. in these words: "The treatment of Al-Qaeda and Taliban prisoners by the United states offends a sense of justice." In response to The Observer's comment, world famous British historian David Irving wrote:
"THE OBSERVER (LONDON'S ONLY SUNDAY NEWSPAPER WITH A CONSCIENCE) RIGHTLY PROTESTS AT U.S PLANS TO 'DISAPPEAR' ENEMY PRISONERS. EVEN ADOLF HITLER GAVE SOVIET PRISONERS THE RIGHT TO BE CALLED PRISONERS OF WAR, ALTHOUGH STALIN HAD REFUSED TO SIGN THE GENEVA CONVENTION. AS I POINTED OUT IN NUREMBURG, THE LAST BATTLE, THE GENEVA CONVENTION DENIES ANY WARRING PARTY THE RIGHT TO ABROGATE ITS PROVISIONS UNILATERALLY -- FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. ANY NATION HAS TO GIVE ONE YEAR'S ADVANCE NOTICE OF ANY INTENTION TO DO SO. ONCE PRESIDENT BUSH HAS RECOVERED FROM THE MYSTERIOUS FALL OFF HIS SETTEE, FOR WHICH MALHEUR WE EXTEND TO HIM THIS WEBSITE'S HEARTFELT SYMPATHY, HE SHOULD ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM URGENTLY. IT IS DAMAGING THE UNITED STATES' GOOD REPUTATION AROUND THE WORLD."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TWO INCIDENTS OF ANTI-GOVERNMENT VIOLENCE ARE REPORTED FROM PAKISTAN following the spate of arrests by Musharref.
1. In Islamabad, a huge fire destroyed 14 stories of a 16 storey government building housing the records of 9 government ministries. The fire started in the Interior Ministry offices (responsible for the crackdown on Islamists) and spread to 8 other ministries which were completely gutted in the fire. No one was injured.
2. A gunman opened fire on security forces at Lahore's airport resulting in serious injuries to four security men. The gunman escaped although the windscreen of his car was shattered by the return fire of the security force.

REPLY TO A QUESTION ABOUT IRAN'S ROLE
{Br. Seedat from South Africa sent us a question about Iran's role with reference to JI leader Munawar Hasan's comment that he was disappointed with Iran. Br. Seedat mentioned a comment from a pro-Iran paper that Mullah Omar had praised Iran and also that Taliban had been very harsh towards Iran and that Iran has not given its air space to the U.S. Here is our response.}

waa (walaikum asalam)

I am sorry to say that Iran actually has played a role which is much worse than what the JI leader indicated. Taliban are not to be blamed for fighting the Iranians because Iran was trying to impose a Shia splinter group on Afghanistan with massive induction of weapons and money.
Crescent's attribution to Mullah Omar seems to be a fabrication. There is no possible way to verify it.
Ayaotallah Khamenei has made it a habit to keep issuing revolutionary statements while doing nothing against America: Khatami's government is very close to the U.S. now.

Iran was never asked for the use of its air bases, so to make a virtue of not having given bases is good politics but not honest.

Iran is the perfect ploy for the U.S. to divide Muslim countries. Wherever Iran goes, it looks for tiny Shi'ite grouplets to suppport. Iran watched the destruction of Iraq and now the destruction of Afghanistan. It's very happy that its rivals are going down.

{The situation in Saudi Arabia is changing. Here is a pro-US regime which was not able to show any open support to the U.S. owing to public opposition.)
