Obama's Inaugural Speech:
Unlike Bush, he speaks without Arrogance, Offers peace to the Muslim world as equals, but threatens Al-Qaida
Islam made Obama possible: If Bush had won his three wars, there would have been no Obama
by Kaukab Siddique, Ph.D

I saw my students lining up for hours to vote for Obama. At one point during the polling process a White man appeared carrying a confederate flag and wearing a white sheet. It was a grave provocation, and so near a Black college, but my students remained focused and patient. For their sake, I hope Obama comes through with his promises of a better world. The devil Bush is gone but the evil lurks not far below the surface of life in America as the man with the confederate flag showed.

The strong Black middle class has made major breakthroughs. Obama is their representative. Will he be able to change the lives of the 75% Black community which is still downtrodden and oppressed? Any chance of REPARATIONS? What will he do for the Mexican under class, Haitians, Guatemalans, Salvadorans, Ecuadorans who are living the life of near slavery in many cases?

Bush was an idiot, as was Cheyney, as New Trend's list of Top Ten Idiots indicated. Idiots can be used as Bush was by Wolfowitz, Feith, Perle and Kissinger. They disappeared from the scene leaving Bush to take the blame: he keprt smiling to the end. Perhaps, empty headed as he was, he really believed that he had brought "democracy" and "freedom" to Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine.

Obama's speech on January 20 had genuine flow and authenticity . Gone were the bluster, muscle flexing and threatening behavior of America under 8 years of Bush. We must thank the Islamic resistance which made it impossible for Bush to win. With the resistance, Bush's popularity on January 19 was 22% [zero % in some parts of America]. Osama, Ayman al-Zawahiri, Mullah Omar, Nasrallah, Khalid Mishal along with the martyrs of Islam bogged down American, NATO, Pak and Israeli armies and forced America to get rid of Bush. Without the resistance, the Muslim world would have become Bushland or Israel's Disney. The price has been steep but we, the sons and daughters of Islam, from Gaza, Fallujah, Mosul, Ramadi, Haditha, Tal Afar, Kandahar, Helmand, Kunar, the Red Mosque, Waziristan, Bajaur, Swat, the Beqa'a valley, Mogadishu have changed America and made Obama's emergence possible. Our martyrs made America realize that bombs, tanks, helicopters, F-16s cannot win against faith and blood.

Even within America's prisons, Imam Jamil al-Amin, Dr. Omar 'Abdel Rahman, Ahmed Abdel Sattar and many others did not betray Islam. "American Islam" fabricated by the Rand Corporation could not win because Jamaat al-Muslimeen emerged.

Malcolm X [al-Hajj Malik Shabazz] was right. America is not amenable to change until it faces insurmountable obstacles overseas [as in Vietnam]. Bush has still not changed but he became irrelevant: billions of dollars could not defeat Islam. The poorest people in the world, the bare footed Afghans, refused to hand over Osama even for $50 million.

Obama on January 20 first threatened to "defeat" al-Qaida [without mentioning it and without using the word "terrorism"] and then changed his tone. He addressed these words to the Muslim world:

"To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West - know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history; but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist."

Hopefully he knows that corrupt, deceitful rulers who practice torture and crimes against all decency are among America's best friends. Will Obama give up the Israelis, Hosni, Abdullah, Zardari etc? It seems unlikely. Should we have the audacity of hope? How will he defeat al-Qaida when Bush could not after 8 years of bombing and torture and wholesale murder of Muslim villages?

Will Obama be able to break out of the stranglehold of Zionist Jews around him? Rahm on his right, Axelrod on his left, Medeleine Albright in front of him, Soros behind him. It looks impossible. Yet Obama has one thing going for him: he has the people's support and an American president cannot be removed for 4 years once he is elected. Bush could not be removed even when the whole country cursed him.

So Obama has a chance to change American policies. However, if he listens to Bush's war leaders, General Petraeus and Secretary Gates, and sends more troops to occupy Afghanistan, he will lose the opportunitry for peace. If he keeps silent about Gaza and keeps pretending that Hamas [though elected like him by the people] is a terrorist organization, and Israel is "defending itself," peace will become a mirage.

New Trend Report: by Kaukab Siddique, Ph.D.
The Greatest Crime of our Era: Zionism in Action.
Israel Could not Defeat Hamas: Genocide aimed at stirring Civilian Uprising against Hamas Failed: Assault was Bush's 3rd War, time slotted to end before Jan. 20

On January 17, 2009: Israel declared a unilateral cease fire.

January 18: Hamas fired 17 rockets at Israel and then declared a conditional cease fire if Israeli troops withdrew.

January 19: Israel carried out a quick withdrawal from Gaza [continuing on January 20]. Hamas volunteers are back on the streets, helping the dazed victims of Israeli terrorism.

At last reports it appears that Israel has killed more than 1300 Palestinians and wounded 5000. Another 200,000 have fled their homes. Another 50,000 took refuge in United Nations shelters till Israel rained phosphorous shells on the UN shelters. The 50,000 fled but, after cease fire, 35,000 returned to the shelters after finding their homes pulverized by Israeli artillery fire. The rest are in the streets trying to remove the debris. [UN report.]

The Israelis focused on terrorizing the population of Gaza, hoping that the people will blame Hamas and cooperate with Israel. It didn't happen.

The few times Israel reached Hamas strongholds, it was beaten back. In the very first fight, Israel lost 1 killed and 29 wounded [almost an entire platoon]. The Israelis learned quickly that they could not defeat Hamas. In turn, it appears that Hamas was too poorly armed to do serious damage to the Jews. It did not have explosives which could blow up tanks or even arm martyrdom operators. [Hizbullah and Iran failed miserably to arm Hamas. The Muslim world has huge armies but could NOT PROVIDE EVEN ONE ANTI-TANK aor ANTI-AIRCRAFT weapon to Hamas.] Still the Jews were too scared to go in. They would stay back and bombard civilians from a long distance. Then they would try to go in but retreated as the fighting became serious.

The Jews have killed 442 children, 188 women and 122 old men in these 22 days of genocide. The main Hamas losses were on the first day when the Israeli air force did a surprise bombing of the police acadamy in Gaza. After that, in the rest of the fighting, Hamas suffered a total of 48 martyrs. [Civilian death toll is increasing as the rubble is removed and more bodies are found.]

Our analysts say that Israel carried out the assault with the full support of the Bush administration. Hence Bush's complete silence as if nothing had happened and Israel was only defending itself! The Israeli assault also had the support of the Egyptian, Jordanian, Saudi regimes and the puppet clique of Mahmoud Abbas. However, the Saudis were the first to back out when they saw the backlash which was eroding their credibility as guardians of the holy cities. They started crying for "cease fire." At a late point, Egypt too saw that if Israel went in for the kill, and thousands more were slaughtered, the entire middle east could turn upside down.

[There are strong indications that Obama was kept informed of the genocide but was kept calm by the assurances that it would be all over before his inauguration. This was a serious Israeli-Bush conspiracy which will blemish the Obama presidency once the facts emerge.]

[Comment: Bombing of civilians to destroy the resistance, if the resistance is people based, is a Jewish tactic which was first used in the Second World War. Churchill was advised by his Jewish confidante known as "the Prof." to bomb German cities. The plan backfired because German resistance, based on mass support for Hitler, grew stiffer as the bombing increased. Popular movements cannot be defeated by genocidal bombing although the suffering is horrendous. David Irving found the documents showing Churchill's hand and the advice of his Jewish confidante. See CHURCHILL'S WAR Vol 2 by David Irving]

Israel has committed a crime which has few equals: Pitting the most modern weaponry against a defenseless population hemmed into a small area, after months of embargo. The plan was to terrorize the people and create chaos which would force Hamas to surrender. Israel failed miserably and now should be made to pay the price.

Possible outcome from Gaza strife

Kaukab Siddique - Baltimore
I am concerned about Israel's use of sophisticated weaponry against soft targets in Gaza. If Israel is fearful of the ineffective rockets fired from Gaza, it should go after the source of the rockets ("Amid Gaza violence, a new task for Obama, " Cover story, News, Dec. 29).
Attempts to destroy the structure of Islamic government of Hamas will only harden the hawkish elements within it. The track record shows that Islamic forces will not surrender. Israel hits an enemy that has no anti-aircraft weaponry. The world despises such bullying tactics.
If Hamas weakens, al-Qaeda might gain a foothold in Gaza. The situation of the Palestinians is desperate. First, Israel turned the entire enclave into a concentration camp, and now F-16s and Apache helicopters are being used to hit police posts, government buildings and an Islamic university. Israel has not learned from past experience. It destroyed Yasser Arafat and found itself facing Hamas.
Israel should consider: Does it want Hamas as an enemy, mostly talkers and demonstrators, or would it like al-Qaeda to take over?

Gaza, Gaza: We are with you: January 18, 2009: Huge, Unprecedented rally in Karachi, Pakistan organized by Jamaate Islami called for Jihad against Israel. Qazi Hussain Ahmed [foreground of photo] Jamaate Islami's top leader expressed disgust at the behavior of Arab rulers. He urged them, if you can't do anything, step aside so that we can help Gaza with food, medicines, and weapons. Tehreeke Insaf of Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif's Muslim League and many others supported the rally. Very large numbers of ordinary citizens participated. Qazi sahib [as he is popularly known] called on the Pakistan government to step out of the American war on the Pak-Afghan frontier and instead send the army to fight Israel. [The rally packed the streets from Qaide Azam's mazar to the Tibet Center, a distance of about 5 kilometers.] Syed Munawar Hasan, Secretary General of JI, Hafiz Naeem, Karachi's JI activist and other leaders deserve to be congratulated for their team of organizers and motivators.

Photo of Pakistani children at the historic rally in Karachi carrying mock bodies of the children Israel killed in Gaza and vowing Jihad against Israel as they grow up. Israel targeted all Muslim children everywhere when it rained death and destruction, often with phosphorous bombs and depleted uranium, on Gaza's defenseless people, Pakistanis say.

Montreal Perspectives

Canadian Support for Abdelkader Belaouni producer of Resistance Music restricted to Church Sanctuary for 3 Years

On Saturday, January 17, 2009, more than 500 supporters of Abdelkader Belaouni, the legally blind Algerian Muslim, stood in front of St. Gabriel's Church, to demand freedom for him. At the head of this procession was a van carrying audio system with the latest "resistance" songs being played throughout the planned route. One of the slogans which was being repeated over and over again was; "Let him out, Let him stay"! which obviously meant let the visually-impaired Algerian Muslim allowed to come out of the Church and into the free atmosphere of Canada, so that he can really become a productive member of the Pointe St. Charles and Montreal communities.

It is worth mentioning that Abdelkader has been confined to St. Gabriel's Church sanctuary, for the last more than three years and in spite of his restricted movement, has been able to produce a program of "resistance" music and related subjects, for one hour every month, on the local CKUT FM radio station. He is fluently trilingual - Arabic, French and English - and can also play muscial instruments. The Immigrant Workers Centre (IWC) of Montreal has already offered him a paid job as an Organizer. Our new Immigration Minister, Mr. Jason Kenney, should have no problem in recommending app;roval of his immigration application after all, particularly because he is creative and the Pointe St. Charles community of Montreal, wants him!

At the time of writing Ehud Olmert, the Prime Minister of Israel, who has been charged in many corruption cases and has already offered his resignation, announced "unilateral" halt of the Gaza massacre, after consulting his partners in international war-crimes - the American lame-duck President George Bush and Uncle Sam's toady, Husn-e-Mubarak. It is not understandable that if the fighting was with Hamas why Olmert should have to get the green signals from Bush and Mubarak. It is understandable therefore that Hamas has refused to accept this "temporary halt" and has announced continuance of the armed struggle against the Zionist Defence Forces, until they are driven out of the Gaza Strip and check points, between the Gaza Strip and Israel, are once again fully opened! Hopefully, all the peace-loving and fair-minded nations, including the 57 Muslim counties, will join in and support Hamas in its rightful struggle against the pernicious Zionist forces, actively helped by the imperialist Uncle Sam.

At this stage it is very crucial that the newly-elected Preisident Obama also declare his new policy for the Middle East. It is important that arrangements be made for a fresh election in the Occupied Palestinian territories and negotiation started in right earnest for a two-state solution. It is also essential that the Quartet - the UN, the USA, the European Union and the Russian Federation, actively support these negotiations, between Israel and the Palestinian National Authority/Hamas.

Israel must be punished for crimes against humanity. That is the task of the Ummah of Islam, globally. [Editor New Trend.]

Though tattered, the banner of Islam flies over Gaza battered and smashed by the Israeli terrorist armada backed by the U.S.
Israel could not win against faith and blood.

Greensboro, North Carolina: Imam Badi Ali Leads 7th Protest rally in 22 days of Israel's Assault on Gaza
January 17, 2009: More than 300 people joined the protest rally in Greensboro, the 7th such rally led by Imam Badi Ali. The protestors, led by a Palestinian youth group, distributed this flyer:

We are demanding:
An Immediate Unconditional Ceasefire in Gaza!
No More US Tax Dollars & Weapons to Israel!
Hold Israel Accountable For War Crimes & Crimes Against Humanity!
The Immediate Opening of All Borders!
Guaranteed Relief and aid for Gazans!
Conduct investigation of Israel's misuse of American supplied weapons!
US must stop funding the genocide using the American Population's Tax Money!

AFGHANISTAN: War News from western news services and Pak media. Unusual winter time attacks by Taliban.
[Most sources agree that 50 to 70% of Afghanistan is in Taliban hands.]

January 18, 2009: A U.S. helicopter was brought down by Taliban small arms fire in the Korengal valley of Kunar province [somwhat like the copter in this file copy.] The U.S. says only one of its troops was killed. Small arms shoot downs of helicopters are extremely rare.
January 17: Kabul: A martyrdom operator broke through tight security on the road connecting the German embassy to the nearby U.S. army camp. In the large explosion which occurred, the vehicles parked at the German embassy caught fire. Six U.S. troops [including 5 from Illinois] were wounded along with a U.S. civilian. One U.S. soldier was killed. [The Taliban told the Pakistani media that the attacker's name was Shams Rahman. His primary target was a German embassy vehicle which blew up killing all its six occupants. Germany is confirming the attack.] Earlier a video tape had emerged from a German Muslim urging Germany to withdraw from Afghanistan or face the consequences.
January 16: Dutch and Australian troops launched an offensive in an area of Uruzgun province. The Taliban withdrew, leaving behind mines which blew up three Dutch vehicles [without any injuries].

January 15: An aging Karzai group helicopter crashed in Herat province while trying to evade ground fire, killing a top Karzai General Fazel Sayar and 11 of his troops.
Saudi prince Maqrin bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud visited Kabul and tried to organize a coalition of Afghan warlords from the Soviet war days against the Taliban.

January 14. Nancy Youssef wrote a lengthy report on Taliban tactics in Helmand province after she interviewed NATO officers. She says that the Taliban shadow NATO troops for days, creating an eerie feeling of being followed among NATO forces, and then attack at their ease. In one such incident in the Sangin area of Helmand, a highly trained British soldier was killed by the Taliban. In another such incident in the Gereshek area of Helmand, two British troops were killed and 2 wounded by Taliban gunmen.

Another report says that a hard core new generation of young Taliban fighters seems to be active.
Some very ugly incidents are reported concerning civilians. On January 7, in Uruzgan province, near Tirin Kot, 11 Afghan villagers were killed and 9 wounded in U.S. artillery fire.
January 9; In another incident, a young Afghan civilian killed a female American anthropologist wearing a U.S. army uniform by throwing flammable material on her. A U.S. soldier enraged at the attack then shot and killed the Afghan youth. [She had gone to Afghanistan to help the troops understand cultural differences in the occupied country.]

January began with vigorous Taliban hit and run attacks on heavily armed U.S. forces. January 8: Two U.S. troops were killed in one such attack in the Maiwand area. January 9: Three U.S. troops were killed in a long drawn out fire fight with Taliban raiders in Zabul province. The same day 8 Karzai police were killed in a Taliban ambush in Nimroz province.

Pakistan War News:
KHYBER PASS:
Early in January, a Pakistani military offensive re-opened the road into Afghanistan for the re-supply of NATO forces. Pakistan arrested 137 Pakistanis living in the area. However on January 15, new rocket attacks by "militants" closed the supply route again. [On January 19 Pak troops guarding the NATO supply rout were hit by Taliban using mortars. One Pak soldier was killed and 12 injured. Paks replied with artillery fire driving away the attackers.]

SWAT: After three years of U.S. and Pakistani attacks on Islamic schools [medressas], a "militant" group led by Maulvi Fazlullah is retaliating by closing down schools set up by the government. At least 5 government schools have been blown up while they were vacant owing to the winter holidays. The destruction of the biggest Islamic women's seminary in Islamabad [known as Jamia Hafsa] by Pak military forces ignited the fighting in the Pakistani frontier areas. [Most of Swat is now in "militant" hands]. Scores of Islamic students have been killed in Pak and U.S. attacks on Islamic schools in Bajaur, Waziristan and Swat.

South Waziristan: January 16: Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud [who rarely gives interviews] broke his silence to tell a news agency that his forces will HIT ISRAELI INTERESTS wherever possible to take REVENGE for GAZA. He added that U.S. air strikes in Pakstan will not work in the future because Pak Taliban have broken the spy ring which was working for the U.S. to help U.S. drones carry out strikes.

Karachi: January 16: Pak police carried out raids in the Sohrab Goth area where refugees from Tajikistan and Waziristan live. They arrested 79 Taliban "suspects" who were trying to sabotage the NATO supply line which starts in Karachi. In exchanges of gunfire, two Pak police were killed and 4 wounded.

ONE QUESTION FOR THE UNITED STATES HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL MUSEUM
I have asked the Director of the Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Dr. Paul Shapiro, to "provide, with proof, the name of one person who was killed in a gas chamber at Auschwitz." One! One out of a "million." Dr. Shapiro does not respond.
I have asked more than 2,000 academics the same question, including Deborah Lipstadt, Michael Berenbaum, and Noam Chomsky. None has responded.
Following WWII the gas-chamber story was the primary instrument used to morally justify the Jewish conquest of Arab land in Palestine, and following that the ruinous U.S. alliance with Israel against the Palestinians and whomever. We can all see what has come of that one.
Am I wrong to ask the USHMM this one question? I can be reached at
