US decision to put a $10 million bounty on the head of an Islamic leader in Pakistan has created a furor in that country. This has been further complicated by President Zardari's visit to India. Please scroll way down for Islamic responses from Pakistan.

Thoughts on Compassion
Spotlights from Imam Badi Ali: An Invitation to Thought

Love people and people will love you.
Spotlight #4:
If you are compassionate, you are blessed.

One quality common to all the prophets is compassion. They were compassionate with people.
Spotlight #7:
Most of our problems can be cured with compassion. The use of compassion is spiritual first aid.
Spotlight #8:
The secret of my happiness comes from thinking of others, putting others interests before mine, seeing others first.
Spotlight #9:
If people were to see the sweetness of serving others, they would fight us to get it.
Spotlight #10:
Faith without compassion is surely nothing but falsehood. It takes a true believer to be compassionate.
Spotlight #11:
Compassion is a missing virtue when you care for yourself only. Your world is too small:Your world will expand as much as you care for others.

"Think not that Allah does not heed the deeds of the oppressors. He gives them respite against a Day when the eyes will fixedly stare in horror." The Qur'an 14:42

Jamaat al-Muslimeen Changing the US Muslim Narrative:
Focus on Defeating Zionism in its Lair. A small force can win with Allah's help.

On April 7, the National Islamic Shoora of Jamaat al-Muslimeen met in Greensboro, North Carolina for 10 hours.
Based solidly on the Qur'an and authentic hadith, this is a movement for non-violent resistance within the limits of American law. The leadership is African-American, Hispanic, White and Asiatic working purely for Allah's deen. It is the only Islamic organization in America which stands against Zionism and Imperialism and is not tied to any government or organization within or outside the US.

There were major presentations by national level leaders. Open dialog and discussion as well as brainstorming sessions provided unusual and insightful perspectives on Islam and Muslims in America.

Imam Badi Ali, from Palestine, has a support base in Greensboro, including a mosque attended by about a thousand people and businesses which respect him across the city. He is respected by Muslims and non-Muslims alike for his compassion, understanding, caring for those in need and solid knowledge of Islam. Owing to his team, the Shoora meeting was organized with near perfection and seeming ease, including arrangements for prayers and Arabic style food for lunch and dinner.
Imam Badi urged Muslims to remember that Hadith and Qur'an go together. Qur'an alone is a new fitna. He also focused on PHAROAH as the Islamic term for tyranny and oppression.

Calling Humanity, a powerful new book by Shamim Siddiqui, was given to 22 people. Br. Kaukab's interview with Lincoln University Radio regarding Israel was given to 10 delegates.

The entire program was presided over by Br. Kaukab Siddique, ameer of JAM, who is from Pakistan.
The prayers were led by Dr. Abdulalim Shabazz [ DrAAS.info ] .

The Racist roots of Zionism: Synopsis]

Dr. Abdulalim Shabazz, Distinguished Professor of Mathematics, gave the keynote address in which he traced the roots of Zionism in the history of racism, White Supremacy and slavery in America. In the Durban [South Africa] conference of 2001, Zionism was denounced globally as a form of racism. The only opponents of the Durban Declaration were the US and Israel.

Racism, Dr. Shabazz said, is a false construct strongly opposed by Islam, which is used to divide people and even to create conflict within the Black communities on the basis of "lighter" and "darker."

It has also emerged in Muslim countries including Saudi Arabia and Lebanon [where an Ethiopian maid was beaten to death with no public reporting on it].

Reflecting on the Trayvon Martin murder, Dr. Shabazz noted that this is an example of profiling which is widespread in America and which dates back to slavery times. The Israelis treat Palestinians the same way.

The only solution is the Islamic idea of equal justice for all. An idea cannot be killed, he said.

Poverty is a Key Issue Facing the Muslim World:

Sis. Ashira Na'im, Secretary General of Jamaat al-Muslimeen and Mosque Administrator:

Cruel and crushing poverty is not allowed in Islam, she said. She reflected on her visits to Bangladesh, Nigeria, Sudan and Ghana and the horrific poverty she saw there. She pointed out that people in these countries work very hard but still cannot get the necessities. This often happens to people in America too but poverty in America is not comparable to poverty in the Muslim world. It's a clear violation of Islam to allow such big disparities in wealth to persist.

The Qur'an makes it essential for us to help those "down in the dust." [She quoted from chapter 90.]

What can be done, she asked. She gave her own example. She has just returned from Ethiopia where she carried out a FEED the HUNGRY project in which 300 people were fed. She made this symbolic gesture, she said, to encourage Muslims to help the needy in our Ummah. AWARENESS and EFFORT are needed, she concluded.

Hispanic Muslims are a Sign of hope for America: Zimmerman case & Class Conflict.

Br. Robert Solano, National Shoora representative
, outlined the potential of Hispanic people in the growing ummah of Islam in America. He has distributed the Qur'an in Spanish to 500 people. He also brought with him beautifully published Spanish translations with Arabic original of the Qur'an, both from Saudi Arabia and local publishers, as well CDs in Spanish about basic teachings of Islam and teachings of the Qur'an about Jesus, pbuh.

He pointed out that America now has a large Hispanic population but it is divided by class, ranging from the very rich to the dirt poor. Some Hispanics have married among Jews but do not reveal this fact. Some do. Zimmerman is a Jewish name and he might be one of them.

There is tremendous gang fighting owing to drug cartels in Mexico but the governments of the US and Mexico are doing little to stop it.

Hispanic women are embracing Islam but overseas Muslims often marry them just for the green card. This is shameful behavior which hurts the new Muslims. We must help our sisters to understand that all Muslims are not real Muslims.

The Way to Paradise is not by Faith Alone but by Faith Connected to Good Works:

Br. Kaukab Siddique, Ameer of Jamaat al-Muslimeen, made a presentation about the way to al-Jannah. It is not by faith alone, although Allah the Merciful may accept sinners and give them a place too in the lower echelons of Paradise. Look at the Qur'an: It explicitly connects faith with deeds, such as helping the needy, supporting the travelers, freeing the slaves, being persistent in jihad against evil forces, and remaining calm in the face of adversity and great odds. Chapter 2:177. Also verse 25 of chapter 2 makes it explicit that FAITH and GOOD WORKS lead to Paradise and pure spouses in that Abode of Peace. However spiritual we might be, we cannot claim al-Jannah unless we take risks by standing against the exploiters, the oppressors, the tyrants, the Zionists, the Imperialists.

Imam Bukhari summed up the hadith on faith with his THREE WORD tafseer: Faith is Action.
Br. Kaukab concluded by pointing out that not only is cooperation with oppressors totally forbidden, even the THOUGHT of cooperating with oppressors takes you towards the fire of hell. [See 11:113]

Top Baltimore Activists : How to be non-violent but resistant?

Owing to the activism of Nadrat Siddique, two of Baltimore's top activists were in the Shoora meeting as observers.

Br. David Wiggins, a Muslim, and Br. Duane "Shorty" Davis [a friend of Muslims] are very active in opposition to injustices against the poor and the weak in Maryland. They are creative and thoughtful in finding non-violent ways of resistance to the power structure including the government and the court system. Br. David spoke out strongly on the Troy Davis and Trayvon cases and heads the Black Think Tank.
Br. Duane "Shorty" Davis has found extremely creative ways of opposing the system, including attempts to connect government officials to potties [toilets]. His toilets have appeared outside the offices of top Maryland officials with relevant messages in them. Baltimore authorities are in turmoil over his actions equating them with toilets and are taking him to court to try and sentence him.

National Islamic Shoora speaks [April 7]

US Muslims' Aspirations Expresssed in Jamaat al-Muslimeen's Resolutions.

Zionism, Women, Political Prisoners, Justice System, No Occupation

  1. Within America

    1. Zionism is a form of racism. We denounce all forms of racism.

    2. We invite Americans to stand against Zionism and racism.

    3. Tremendous injustices of Zionism are covered up by the major media owing to corporate and Zionist control.

    4. The movie industry is also controlled, manipulated and used by the Zionists. This process needs to be blocked and reversed.

    5. There is tremendous need for alternate media. In the meantime, we should express ourselves through public access channels, buy radio time and go to youtube.

    6. Education in America should include a full understanding of racism and Zionism. Most Americans don't know what is Zionism and hence are easily misled by Israeli propaganda. School courses and syllabi exclude Zionism, thus shielding Israel from scrutiny.

    7. Women are being humiliated by the mass culture which treats them as a form of entertainment and encourages them to strip and to degrade themselves. It is the duty of Muslims to stand against mass culture and to insist on individual dignity and honor for women.

    8. Political prisoners are being held unjustly; They are a mark of shame on America's face and should be released . Among them are Imam Jamil al-Amin, Dr. Omar Abdel Rahman, Ahmed Abdel Sattar, Lynne Stewart, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, Imam Ali Timimi, Dr. Kifah al-Jayyousi, Siddique Abdullah Hasan, Masoud Khan, Tarek Mehanna, Dr. Sami al-Arian and Abu Ali as well as the scores of dissidents and radicals of African descent.

    9. The American justice system is in a state of disarray and decline and has become a source of grave injustice for the poor and the oppressed. It needs to be identified as a tool of oppression. The case of Trayvon Martin is only one example of how justice is not carried out. We have already seen the cases of Sean Bell, Ahmadu Diallo, Troy Davis and countless others. Police atrocities are so common that they are hardly news any longer.

    10. The American prison system has become a place of horrors where several million people are being dehumanized and used as a source of cheap labor. We should note that long imprisonment is not accepted in Islam and serves no purpose.

    11. We condemn the persecution of Muslims in America. Surveillance, informants, entrapment and intimidation have become so widespread that the entire Muslim community senses that it has been disenfranchised.

  2. INTERNATIONAL ASPECTS [Shia Sunni Conflict is self-destructive.]

    1. Jamaat al-Muslimeen urges the UN to declare that Zionism is racism as it did once before. Zionism has not changed.

    2. We encourage overseas Muslims to be aware that the West is trying to steal their victories in the Arab Spring and is trying to create disruption and division everywhere among Muslims.

    3. We oppose and condemn drone attacks in Pakistan and Yemen which are being used in extra judicial killings in direct violation of international law.

    4. We oppose and condemn occupation and Intervention in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Pakistan, Libya, Somalia, Chechnya and Nigeria.

    5. Shia-Sunni conflict is a major ploy of the enemies of Islam. Differences among Muslims should be at the level of debate and dialogue, not conflict and antagonism.

    6. The occupation of Palestine by the Zionists is the flashpoint of war, division, subversion, infiltration and disruption in the Muslim world.

    7. The Zionists have imposed Apartheid in Palestine. We urge a worldwide boycott of Israeli and Israel supporting businesses to counter Israeli atrocities.

    8. Muslims should be aware of the West's campaign to RE-COLONIZE Africa. We must oppose this process which has the potential for great suffering for the people of Africa.

    9. Muslim countries, including Iran, have the right to develop nuclear technology. The only country which has used nuclear weapons against civilians is the US. It's ally Israel has an arsenal of nuclear bombs. These two are certainly not on moral high ground to declaim against Iranian nuclear advances.

    10. The West's slogans of "human rights" and "democracy" are merely ploys for infiltration and aggression against Muslim countries. Islam has all the values of social transformation which the Muslim countries need and there is no place for these "gifts" from the West which denies Islamic self-determination.

War News: Yemen
April 9: Ansar al-Sharia forces are trying to create a northern link by attacking the town of Lowder. 95 miles north east of Zinjibar, the Ansar's stronghold in Abyan province. Government forces, heavily armed, are resisting. As fighting continues there are casualties on both sides.
The same day, al-Qaida suspect killed a soldier in the port city of Aden which the Islamic people are infiltrating. Also, gunmen killed Maj Brigadier Esmael Ba-Alwi in the city of Taez.

April 8: There are 73 government troops in the hands of Ansar al-Sharia. The fighters are demanding that the regime release 600 people in exchange who were arrested for al-Qaida sympathies. Also, the Ansar have blown up an oil pipeline in Shabwa in retaliation for US air strikes.
Earlier, US ambassador Feirstein expressed concern over the arrival of Somali fighters to support Ansar al-Sharia. Feirstein also expressed worry over Abdul Majeed Zindani and a large number of his followers being active in Al-Islah Party. The US considers Zindani a terrorist and an al-Qaida supporter. US wants the military to re-organize to crush Ansar who it says are a name for al-Qaida.

War News Afghanistan
According to icasualties, an American source, 39 NATO troops were killed in Afghanistan during March. In the first 7 days of April, 9 NATO troops have been killed. Two of them are elite British troops. None of these items are published in the US media.

The military attacked and destroyed mosques and Islamic schools run by Boko Haram. Attacks on Muslims during Eid and Muslim prayer gatherings killed hundreds of Muslims whose bodies were dumped in mosques in Jos and Kano.

Now comes Boko Haram [suspected] retaliation against Christians. On April 8, a huge bomb blast in Kaduna killed 38 Christians. Kaduna is a Muslim city into which the military has brought large numbers of Christian Ibos from the south east to dilute the Muslim population. There were a number of other attacks too on Easter but with minor losses. Two Islamic fighters were killed in Maiduguri by the military which has occupied the city.
The US has condemned the attacks on Christians [but not the attacks on Muslims].

04/04/2012 Outrage in Germany. Nobel Laureate Grass Attacks Israel in New Poem
DPA
German author Günter Grass has accused Israel of "endangering a world peace that is already fragile."
In a move that has drawn angry reactions in Germany, Nobel Prize-winning author Günter Grass has published a new poem criticizing Israel's policies against Iran. Historically, Grass has been outspoken in his political views, but many believe the author has now broken a taboo.

Günter Grass, Germany's most famous living author and the 1999 recipient of the Nobel Prize in literature, sparked outrage in Germany on Wednesday with the publication of a poem, "What must be said," in which he sharply criticizes Israel's policies on Iran.

"Why did I wait until now at this advanced age and with the last bit of ink to say: The nuclear power Israel is endangering a world peace that is already fragile?" Grass writes in the poem. The 84-year-old also criticizes the planned delivery of submarines "from my country" to Israel, a reference to Germany's plan to deliver Dolphin-class submarines to Israel that are capable of carrying nuclear-armed missiles. At the same time, Grass also expresses his solidarity with Israel.

In the poem, published by Germany's Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper and other European dailies on Wednesday, Grass also calls for an "unhindered and permanent monitoring of Israel's nuclear potential and Iran's nuclear facility through an international entity that the government of both countries would approve." It is widely believed that Israel possesses nuclear weapons, although it has never been proven.
In response to the publication, the Israeli Embassy in Berlin issued a statement offering its own version of "What must be said." "What must be said is that it is a European tradition to accuse the Jews before the Passover festival of ritual murder," the statements reads. "Earlier, it was Christian children whose blood the Jews allegedly used to make their unleavened bread, but today it is the Iranian people that the Jewish state allegedly wants to annihilate. What also must be said is that Israel is the only state in the world whose right to exist is openly doubted. That was true on the day of its founding and it remains true today. We want to live in peace with our neighbors in the region. And we are not prepared to assume the role that Günter Grass is trying to assign to us as part of the German people's efforts to come to terms with the past."
'A Tendency Toward Megalomania'
Others have also reacted. The Central Council of Jews in Germany has called the poem an "aggressive pamphlet of agitation." Ruprecht Polenz, the chair of the German parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee and a senior member of Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats, told the daily Mitteldeutsche Zeitung that, while Grass is a literary great, "he has difficulties whenever he comments on politics and is often wrong." Polenz's CDU colleague Philipp Missfelder said "the poem is tasteless, ahistorical and demonstrates a lack of knowledge about the situation in the Middle East."
Grass, however, has found support from the head of the German PEN chapter, Johano Strasser, who also warned against exporting German weapons to Israel on Wednesday in a radio interview.
The German newspaper Die Welt, which apparently got an advance copy of the poem, published a response on Wednesday by Henryk Broder, a journalist at the newspaper who is the country's most prominent Jewish writer. The Berlin-based polemicist, who himself is famous for his outspoken views, attacks Grass in an editorial. "Grass always had a problem with Jews, but it has never articulated it as clearly as he has in this 'poem'."
He writes that "Grass has always had a tendency toward megalomania, but this time he is completely nuts." He also criticizes Grass for claiming in a 2011 interview with Israeli journalist Tom Segev that 6 million German soldiers were "liquidated" by the Soviets after World War II. The figure is extremely controversial as it hints at a direct comparison with the number of Jews killed in the Holocaust.
Grass, Broder writes, "is the prototype of the educated anti-Semite, who is well-meaning when it comes to Jews. Haunted by feelings of guilt and shame and also driven by the desire to settle history, he is now attempting to disarm the 'cause of the recognizable threat.'"

'The Same View as Ahmadinejad'

The last time Grass made headlines in earnest was back in 2006, when he revealed for the first time in his autobiography, "Peeling the Onion," that, as a 17-year-old near the end of World War II, he had served as a member of the Waffen-SS. The author came under intense criticism at the time. Many accused him of having concealed the fact that he had been a member of the SSfor decades, even as he publicly criticized others for their Nazi pasts time and again. Some at the time alleged he had lost his authority as a moral figure.

Wednesday's poem is not the first time Grass has come out with critical views of Israel. In a 2001 interview with SPIEGEL ONLINE, he offered his own solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. "Israel doesn't just need to clear out of the occupied areas," he said at the time. "The appropriation of Palestinian territory and its Israeli settlements are also a criminal activity. That not only needs to be stopped -- it also needs to be reversed. Otherwise there will be no peace."
Welt journalist Broder alleges the statement is "no less than a demand for Israel to not just cede Nablus and Hebron, but also Tel Aviv and Haifa." Just like Hamas and Hezbollah, Broder alleges, "Grass does not differentiate between the 'occupied areas' of 1948 and 1967." By calling the "appropriation" of Palestinian territories a "criminal act," Broder claims, Grass shares the same view as Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Outrage in Pakistan: Following 2 items summarized from Pakistani Urdu media.

Hafiz Saeed's Response to $10 million bounty on his head by the US

April 4. Hafiz Saeed spoke to Qatar TV and addrsssed a "Defense of Pakistan" rally in Haripur. He said that he is not hiding in a cave somewhere that a bounty can be put on his head. He said that large scale support for his program to block NATO's supply routes has brought the US against him. He said that India has also mislead the US against him.
He said that if there is any evidence of terrorism against him, it should be brought forth and he would face it. He accused the US and India of designs on Pakistani nuclear weapons and supporting separatists in Baluchistan. He concluded that the only salvation for Muslims is by way of Jihad.

US Brings Serious Charges: Contacts with Osama & al-Zawahiri plus Mumbai Attack

April 4: In an interview with the Times Of India, Bruce Reidel, a close associate of Obama, claimed that Hafiz Saeed was in contact with Shaykh Osama by courier right up to the US raid on his house.

A bounty of $2 million has also been put on Hafiz Abdur Rahman Makki, brother in law of Hafiz Saeed and a fiery orator, who is also accused of being in contact with al-Qaida leaders and behind the Mumbai attack along with Saeed.

Jamaate Islami Leader Munawar Hasan Answers US Bounty on Hafiz Saeed's Head: Adressing a mass prayer gathering.

from Jamaate Islami's media cell

LAHORE, Apr. 6: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that Hafiz Muhammad Saeed's head was priceless while US President Obama's head was not worth two pennies because it was filled with evil and bent upon destroying world peace.

Addressing a huge Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said that 180 million people of Pakistani were with Hafiz Saeed and applauded his valour and determination. There are thousands of Hafiz Saeeds in this country, so on how many of them would Washington place head money, he asked.

The JI Ameer said on one hand, the US claimed friendship with Pakistan but on the other hand, it was supporting India and wanted to build it as regional policeman.

He said that the Pakistani courts had acquitted Hafiz Muhammad Saeed of all charges due to lack of evidence whereas a US official visiting India had announced head money for Hafiz Saeed only to draw applause from New Delhi.
Syed Munawar Hasan said, the US had gone mad in the desire to punish the future generations of Afghanistan and to wipe out Jehad from the earth and was using this country as a tool.

He exhorted the parliament to take a bold stance and unanimously reject the US pressure for the restoration of NATO supplies. He also stressed upon the parties opposed to the NATO supplies not to boycott the parliament session as it would enable the ruling alliance to achieve their goal. Instead, they should attend the session and present their viewpoint with full force.

He said the nation would not permit NATO supplies as it was suicidal. He said this was a matter of life and death and the nation should not remain neutral in this regard. He also appealed to the truck drivers to refuse to drive the NATO containers to Afghanistan.

Syed Munawar Hasan pointed out the US had bluntly refused to apologize for the attack on the Silala military post, therefore, Pakistan authorities' request to Washington for an apology was adding insult to injury. He said Washington had held Pakistan responsible for the attack which was ridiculous. He said the time for an apology had passed.

He said that Pervez Musharraf had plunged the nation in the so called war on terror while the PPP government was pushing the nation into complete US slavery.

Pak President Zardari donated $1 Million to grave of Sufi saint
Munawar Hasan's Analysis of NATO Supply Restoration and Zardari's India Visit
LAHORE, Apr, 9: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that instead of the restoration of the NATO supplies, the National Security Committee should discuss pulling out of the US so-called war on terror, end to the drone attacks and limitary operations and recovery of the missing persons.
Addressing the concluding session of the two day workshop for JI leaders at central and provincial level at Mansoora, he said that an end to the US interference was the only solution of the problem because it was due to this that military operations were done in different areas, thousands of innocent citizens were killed, thousands of houses were razed to the ground and hundreds of people were lifted.
The JI Ameer said that the US slaves had agreed to restore NATO supplies but the masses were neither in favour of laying down any conditions in this regard nor would they permit signing any bond of slavery. If the NATO supplies were restored, the rulers would have to face resistance at every step.
Referring to President Zardari's giving away one million dollars to the Mutawallis of the Mazar at Ajmer Sharif, the JI Ameer said that offerings made from the looted public wealth would not win Allah's pleasure.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the foremost issue for the review of Pak-US ties should be to revival of national dignity and pulling out of the so called terror-war in order to tide over the present crisis. He said that the parliament members who were sacrificing national interests against US interests were representing Washington and not the nation. .
He urged the nation to recognize its enemies and the US' friends. These were the people who had made the country a US slave to fill their own coffers. The people were starving while the rulers had billions of dollars in foreign banks. The national institutions were being ruined and national assets squandered.
The JI Ameer said that the Go America Go campaign started by the JI had become the nation's voice and the Defa e Pakistan Council and other patriotic parties were advancing this movement. He expressed the desire that other political parties also join hands on the one point agenda of " US slavery No more" so that the enemy plans against this country were foiled and the problems facing the masses were resolved.
He directed the JI leadership from all over the country to mobilize the masses for a grand movement and awaken the patriotic spirit among the people to get rid of the US slaves.
