Hadith of the Week

A woman traveling alone for a good cause, seeking men's help to search for her husband.
Comment by Br. Kaukab Siddique.

There is a long hadith narrative about Umm Hakim, the wife of Ikrima, son of Abu Jahal, the worst enemy of Islam. . After the Islamic victory at Makka, Ikrima, who had fought on the battlefield against Islam, fled thinking that as was the norm before Islam, he would be killed. His wife who had embraced Islam, knew of the Prophet's, pbuh, abundance of forgiveness. Umm Hakim started on a search for her husband, travelling from village to village, till she reached Yemen where she found him. She persuaded him to come to back to Makka with her. The Prophet, pbuh, was not only pleased with her long journey, he was elated that Ikrima had returned with her.

This is the briefest hadith on this subject which highlights the woman's right to travel alone, and how happy was the Prophet, pbuh, that Ikrima came back with her:

"Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Umm Hakim bint al-Harith ibn Hisham who was the wife of Ikrima ibn Abi Jahl became muslim on the day of the conquest of Makka, and her husband Ikrima fled from Islam as far as the Yemen. Umm Hakim set out after him until she came to him in the Yemen and she called him to Islam, and he became muslim. He went to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in the year of the conquest. When the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saw him, he rushed to him in joy and did not bother to put on his cloak until he had made the pledge with him. They were confirmed in their marriage. Malik said, "If a man becomes muslim before his wife, a separation occurs between them when he presents Islam to her and she does not become muslim, because Allah, the Blessed, the Exalted, said in His Book, 'Do not hold fast to the ties of women who are kafirun.' "

JAM SHOORA RESOLUTIONS

Resolutions from Jamaat al-Muslimeen Attempting to Express the Viewpoint of the Ummah of Islam in USA
  1. Palestine is central to the struggle of the Muslims of America. The Zionists have American institutions in a stranglehold, be it in Government, the Media, Education, Hollywood or Military .

  2. We hail the peaceful resistance of the people of Baltimore to police oppression .

  3. we condemn police brutalities which have become endemic across America.

  4. we as Muslims stand with the oppressed people of America.

  5. Oppression and exploitation of women Is condemned by Islam. We urge Muslims to oppose objectification of women and the use of their bodies on the media and in sales and business.

  6. Homosexuality was opposed by all the messengers of God. Zionist support for Homosex indicates a planned legitimization of indecency and perversion.

  7. The exploitation of Mexican and other central American labor is a disgrace to a modern state. We urge the rights of education, security and proper wages to all immigrants, be they legal or undocumented.

  8. Political prisoners should not be treated as criminals. Opposition to the power structure should not be treated as incipient terrorism.

  9. Muslims who want to go overseas to fight tyrants and dictators should not be treated as terrorists.

  10. Disinformation about Islam and Muslims has become commonplace and an every day affair on Fox tv and to a lesser degree on other outlets. Standards of accuracy should be set . Muslims should have a right of reply as they are the main targets of fox and others.

  11. We call for boycott of businesses which support Israel directly or indirectly as well as businesses which condone police brutality in America.

Overseas:

  1. US air strikes in Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen and Pakistan are violations of International and Islamic Law and have not been
    endorsed by the American people.

  2. Pakistani military's operations in North Waziristan and other areas of Pakistan are genocidal. Entire populations are expelled to provide free fire zones for the military.

  3. Bangladesh has terrorized innocent and peaceful Islamic scholars. Some of them have been sentenced to death, others imprisoned. Muslim students have been attacked and killed in the hundreds by military and police forces.

  4. Egypt is in the claws of a military and police tyranny backed by Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and the western powers. The most extreme violation of the rights of the Egyptian people is the arrest of the elected President of Egypt and the sentence of death imposed on him by a bogus court. We urge that he be released to restore sanity to the Egyptian political process.

  5. We condemn the Saudi bombing of Yemen. The bombing, day after day, which has killed more than 2,000 people, leaving 6,000 injured. We urge political negotiation and an end to all violence including that by the Houthis.

  6. Muslim lands of Kashmir and Chechnia are under heavy occupation by military forces of India in Kashmir and Russia in Chechnia. Occupation is not the solution. Self-determination is the answer.

  7. The Rohingya Muslim have been oppressed and decimated in large numbers by the oppressive Buddhism of Burma. We urge Bangladesh, Indonesia and Malaysia to take in these helpless people. We hail Gambia's offer in this matter.

  8. We urge the government of India to stop the oppression of women, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs and Dalits. The mosques India has demolished should be restored.

  9. The regime of Bashar Assad has committed horrific crimes against the people of Syria. We urge the unity of the Muslim world to topple the tyrant and his regime.

  10. We hail President Erdogan's and Turkey's steady movement to affirm Islam as a central value. We pray that Erdogan will move forward to liberate Palestine.

  11. We can see that Africa is in tremendous upheaval. The presence of French military forces in Mali, Niger and Central African Republic are sources of ongoing conflict and repression of the masses. All colonial forces should go back to Europe.

Jamaat al-Muslimeen activity in Baltimore Suburb: 100 Muslims Reached after Juma'

On March 22, after Juma' at Masjid Rahma, also known as ISB, a FIVE-page Jamaat al-Muslimeen document was given to 100 Muslims.

These were mostly Indian Muslims, Pakistanis and a few Arabs and African Americans.

The parking lot was jam packed with shiny late model cars spilling onto the street in front for half a block. There must have been at least 300 to 400 people there.

ICNA brother was giving out a fund raising "give me funds" PR paper. It is a charitable group which has long given up all appearance of being an Islamic movement group.

The five page Jamaat al-Muslimeen document was as follows:

Ireland: Stronghold of Christianity for centuries

Final Defeat for Christianity? Ireland Votes for Homosexual Marriage

DUBLIN (AP) -- Irish voters have resoundingly backed amending the constitution to legalize gay marriage, leaders on both sides of the Irish referendum declared Saturday after the world's first national vote on the issue.

As the official ballot counting continued, the only question appeared to be how large the "yes" margin of victory from Friday's vote would be. Analysts said the "yes" support was likely to exceed 60 percent nationally when official results are announced later Saturday.

Gay couples hugged and kissed each other amid scenes of jubilation at counting centers and at the official results center in Dublin Castle, whose cobblestoned central square was opened so thousands of revelers could sit in the sunshine and watch the results live on big-screen televisions.

Same-Sex Marriage by Country | FindTheData

"We're the first country in the world to enshrine marriage equality in our constitution and do so by popular mandate. That makes us a beacon, a light to the rest of the world, of liberty and equality. So it's a very proud day to be Irish," said Leo Varadkar, a Cabinet minister who came out as gay at the start of a government-led effort to amend Ireland's conservative Catholic constitution.

"People from the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community in Ireland are a minority. But with our parents, our families, or friends and co-workers and colleagues, we're a majority," said Varadkar, who watched the votes being tabulated at the County Dublin ballot center.

"For me it wasn't just a referendum. It was more like a social revolution," he said.

In the first official result, the Dublin North West constituency voted 70.4 percent "yes" to gay marriage. But the outcome was already beyond dispute as observers, permitted to watch the paper ballots being counted at all election centers, offered precise tallies giving the "yes" side an unassailable nationwide lead.

Michael Barron and Jaime Nanci, a gay couple legally married in South Africa five years ago, celebrated with friends at the Dublin City counting center as the reality sank in that, once Ireland's parliament passes the complementary legislation, their foreign marriage will be recognized in their homeland.

"Oh.My.God! We're actually Married now!" Nanci tweeted to his spouse and the world, part of a cavalcade of tweets from Ireland tagged (hash)LandslideOfLove.

Political analysts who have covered Irish referendums for decades agreed that Saturday's emerging landslide marked a stunning generational shift from the 1980s, when voters still firmly backed Catholic Church teachings and overwhelmingly voted against abortion and divorce.

"We're in a new country," said political analyst Sean Donnelly, who called the result "a tidal wave" that has produced pro-gay marriage majorities in even the most traditionally conservative rural corners of Ireland.

"I'm of a different generation," said the gray-haired Donnelly, who has covered Irish politics since the 1970s. "When I was reared up, the church was all powerful and the word 'gay' wasn't even in use in those days. How things have moved from my childhood to now. It's been a massive change for a conservative country."

Ireland's deputy prime minister, Labour Party leader Joan Burton, said Ireland was becoming "a rainbow nation with a huge amount of diversity." She said while campaigning door to door, she met older gay people who described how society made them "live in a shadow and apart," and younger voters who were keen to ensure that Irish homosexuals live "as free citizens in a free republic."

The "yes" side ran a creative, compelling campaign that harnessed the power of social media to mobilize young voters, tens of thousands of whom voted for the first time Friday. The vote came five years after parliament approved marriage-style civil partnerships for gay couples.

Those seeking a "no" outcome described their defeat as almost inevitable, given that all of Ireland's political parties and most politicians backed the legalization of homosexual unions.

David Quinn, leader of the Catholic think tank Iona Institute, said he was troubled by the fact that no political party backed the "no" cause.

"We helped to provide a voice to the hundreds of thousands of Irish people who did vote no. The fact that no political party supported them must be a concern from a democratic point of view," he said.

Fianna Fail party leader Michael Martin, a Cork politician whose opposition party is traditionally closest to the Catholic Church, said he couldn't in good conscience back the anti-gay marriage side because "it's simply wrong in the 21st century to oppress people because of their sexuality."

Some in Martin's party - the perennial heavyweight in Irish politics but decimated since its ouster from power following Ireland's 2010 international bailout - did privately oppose the amendment, but only one spoke out in favor of the "no" side.

John Lyons, one of just four openly gay lawmakers in the 166-member parliament, waved the rainbow flag of the Gay Pride movement in the Dublin City counting center and cried a few tears of joy. He paid special credit to the mobilization of younger voters, many of whom traveled home from work or studies abroad to vote.

"Most of the young people I canvassed with have never knocked on a door in their lives," Lyons said. "This says something about modern Ireland. Let's never underestimate the electorate or what they think.

Khutba

 Imam Ali Siddiqui

A Strategy of Engagement: Education

Highlights of Khutbah delivered by Imam Ali Siddiqui at Masjid Jamaat al-Muslimeen, Baltimore, Maryland on May 22, 2015

Applied Islam

Just recapping what we have already discussed. As I mentioned in my first Khutbah in this series, in the inner cities people live in a very dire condition. As we walk, drive, ride a bus, or ride a bike through the, these communities or around our masjids is no exception. As Muslims, it's our duty to uplift our brothers and sisters in humanity. However, we cannot do much as an outsider! For that reason we shall develop a strategy: A Strategy of Engagement. This 8-Step Strategy consists of Propagation (Tabligh), Invitation (Da'wa), Education (Ta'leem), Organization (Tanzeem), Cooperation (Ta'wun), Action/Struggle (Jihad 'E-maa-run, Reconstruction), Sabr (Struggle, hope, steadfastness, perseverance, consistency), and Victory, Celebration, and Rest.

Last month, I already talked about first two steps:
Propagation (Tabligh) and Invitation (Da'wa).

We shall remember the message of Islam is for everyone; however, Allah will guide whoever Allah pleases. Islam is the message of hope for a better life in Dunya, this world, and a promise of place in Jannah-tul-Firdous. Promise of an eternal Good Life in the Best Place in the Universe in the company of best looking and Pure Spouses أَزْوَاج¢ مُّطَهَّ›َةٌ .

We shall take the Message to our neighbors: "(Do good to) the neighbors near to you, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler ... Q 4:36". Whoever are our neighbors around our masjid, our homes, around our businesses, and even when we travel.

Think! What is the best thing we could do for our Neighbors? No less than give them the Good News of a place in Paradise.

Insha-Allah, today, I will talk about the third step, Education (Ta'leem), its importance, its obligation, and its reward. When someone accepts Islam, declared Shahada, educating the new in Islam shall be our first priority.

3. Education (Ta'leem)

Read & Write is the First Commandment of Allah:
‒ "Read in the name of Your Lord Who created: Created a human being from a clot. Read and Your
Lord is most Honorable. Who taught (to write) with the pen, taught human being what he knew
not." Q 96:1-5
‒ Education is very important: Knowing our purpose of our creation and purpose in life.
Honor with Education
Allah gives honor, respect dignity with knowledge:

Islamic Rebuttal and Rejection of Homosexuality:
Reference to the "Gay" Army's Victory in Ireland

" Hygienic and healthy behaviors are important components of civilisation. Perversions cannot be but the antidote of civilization. The perversions that threaten the lives of individuals and peaceful survival of the most notable natural institution of family cannot be described anything but barbarism at its worst. What can then be said of the "Civilised World" that safeguards, promotes and commercializes the Sexual perversion of the most abominable kind and the most life threatening - the Homosexuality? "

by Dr. Javed Jamil

Ireland too has fallen. One state after another is falling in America, and one country after the other is being captured in Europe. Satan's triumphant march is in full swing. Ireland's fall is much more ominous than the previous ones because this time, the fall has happened not through powerful lobbies but through the people's mandate. Satan of gay sex is laughing at the vulnerability of human beings. Sodom and Gomorrah of history are being rediscovered and expanded in territory. The rest of the world is watching with disbelief and amusement.

From the kind of enthusiasm shown by the protagonists of gay marriages, it appears that soon it will become more difficult for a person to be heterosexual than homosexual. It is in human nature to fall to the emerging trends. And the emerging trend in the West is towards same sex rather than the opposite. There are already examples, like New Hollywood in USA, where almost half of the inhabitants have turned gay.

This reminds me of a verse of the Holy Quran, which points towards the argument Abraham had with God regarding the people of Sodom and Gomorrah', which God had decided to destroy on account of their inhabitants becoming addict to same sex relationships. Abraham felt sad about the destruction of the whole populace and pleaded with God to abandon His plan:

"When the worry left Abraham and he got the good news, he began to argue with Us for the Community of Lut. Certainly, Abraham was a man, full of concern, compassionate and inquisitive." (Quran 11: 74-75)

The details of Abraham's argument with God are captured in Old Testament ( Genesis 18:16-33New International Version (NIV) :

"16 When the men got up to leave, they looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way. 17 Then the Lord said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? 18 Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.[a] 19 For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him."
20 Then the Lord said, "The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous 21 that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know."
22 The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the Lord.[b] 23 Then Abraham approached him and said: "Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? 24 What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare[c]the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? 25 Far be it from you to do such a thing-to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?"
26 The Lord said, "If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake."
27 Then Abraham spoke up again: "Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes, 28 what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five people?"
"If I find forty-five there," he said, "I will not destroy it."
29 Once again he spoke to him, "What if only forty are found there?"
He said, "For the sake of forty, I will not do it."
30 Then he said, "May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?"
He answered, "I will not do it if I find thirty there."
31 Abraham said, "Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?"
He said, "For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it."
32 Then he said, "May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?"
He answered, "For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it."
33 When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home."

Abraham thought that at least ten good people will be there and the cities would be saved. But there were not even ten, and the twin cities were stoned by the heavens to death.

Normal hygienic and healthy behaviours are important components of civilisation. Perversions cannot be but the antidote of civilisation. The perversions that threaten the lives of individuals and peaceful survival of the most notable natural institution of family cannot be described anything but barbarism at its worst. What can then be said of the "Civilised World" that safeguards, promotes and commercialises the Sexual perversion of the most abominable kind and the most life threatening - the Homosexuality?

The attempt to legalise Homosexuality is nothing but the continuation of the same series of worldwide strategies of "development" in which every human susceptibility is first given a legal and social sanction, then it is glorified in the media as a victory of "Freedom of Choice" and "Human Rights" and then with all the obstacles removed it is commercialized at huge level.

But the truth remains that the economics of homosexuality cannot cover for the menace, which homosexuality is. The attempts to legalise homosexuality are shocking. This is like legalising murders, terrorism and rapes. Homosexuality is in fact much more dangerous than any of these, as it has led, leads to and can lead to a much bigger loss of life .

By legalising gay marriages, homosexuality is being sought to be institutionalised. Otherwise what can explain why on the one hand marriages in general are being discouraged and on the other hand gay marriages are being aggressively promoted? This is surely aimed at boosting the population of gays. The children growing in the company of their gay "parents" will have bigger chances of succumbing to homosexual tendencies than the normal population. Moreover, these "parents" cannot be a replacement of natural parents. Their love for their "children" is not natural. The affection between parents and children can never be as fruitful as between the natural parents and children; and the probability of child abuse will surely be much greater.

To say that homosexuality is natural is like saying criminal tendencies are natural. These are not natural but human aberrations of most dangerous kind. Such aberrations are present in notorious criminals also. Can the crimes be legalized to help them? Can they be given protection by the law on the ground of not discriminating against persons? Even otherwise, homosexuality is a relationship that does not produce any progeny. So genes if any related to hardcore unadulterated homosexuality cannot be transmitted. Even if it is accepted as natural, it remains an anomaly like many other congenital diseases. The anomalies and diseases need treatment and counselling rather than acceptance and encouragement .

It appears that the Satan will continue to laugh, at least for some more time. Hopefully, an Abraham or a Lot will this time be able to save the world from being stoned to death.

What Agha Khanis really Believe has nothing to do with Islam.
by Sis. Gulshan [Vancouver, Canada]

[The writer left the Ismaili cult and embraced Islam. She has been under extreme Ismaili attack on the Internet for more than 3 years. Here she answers the Agha Khani/Ismaili claim that they have the same belief system as Muslims--- Editor]

Malik Bhai: I am addressing you as bhai for one reason only and that is your language is not as dirty and filthy as Zina and her gang members that is proving their strong hatred of Islam and Muslims.

Though, it is not their fault as they are all hypnotized by the Imams who have taught to hate Islam and the Quran. Sultan Shah's farman-fatwa of not to ever touch the Quran and no connection with the Muslims who follow Islam.

This is the same Islam followed by Caliph H. Ali (RA) and million of Muslims.. Whom Ismailis call Wahabis or terrorists. This is the teaching of fake Imams who have filled all with such hatred of Islam. To hate Muslims is a different thing but to hate Islam is another, a heinous sin.

To be respectful of others is the sign of ethics and moral values. But how can one learn such when the teacher himself doesn't have any.

Also to lie about the religion, especially the religion of Allah is the most heinous sin.
You have every right to defend your religion and so do we. Although, Islam doesn't need any defense as Allah is the One to defend HIS given religion. Our ways are only to correct, and give Allah's truth to all the mankind. Our aim is just one and that is to rescue the innocent people who are tangled up in the lies, frauds, scams and the ponzi schemes in the name of religion. We the converts are giving the same Islam that is given to Muslims by our beloved Messenger Muhammad SAWS, and practiced the same by millions of Muslims.

Nobody has dared to change it except the Agakhans. The 1st Agakhan an apostate of his own sect, created a new Hindu-Ismaili religion for the Hindus and made Islam and the al-Quran haram for them.

Who can deny the historical facts?

Let us not mix the political situation with the religion of Islam. The wrong actions of some Muslims have nothing to do with the religion of Islam. It is for their own personal reasons retaliating against their enemies like any other people do. The massacre of Ismailis in Pakistan is also by the rival Ismaili sect who hates each other just like all the 45 sects of Shia hate each other. The same Ismaili sectarian fight is going on in Syria, Afghanistan, Tajikistan etc. This is not the Shia and Ismaili fight, but the internal communal fight going on since years.

Islam stands on 5 pillars. Belief in Allah is the first Pillar. If you reject Allah and HIS worship then there is nothing else, all zero. That's where the Ismailism starts. You only need to understand this simplest concept of 1st Pillar of Islam!

Believe in Allah and HIS Messenger Muhammad SAWS.

It is so sad that we were never ever introduced to Allah and HIS Messenger. Our Rasool SAWS worked hard to remove the paganism of Idol worshiping but your fake Imam khuda Agakhan has destroyed it by becoming god himself. Can any Ismailis deny this fact? It is all done in secret behind the closed doors of the temple Jamat khana.

Therefore, please kindly stop your sickening nonsense and lies to convince the Muslims and the world that you believe in Islam and are Shia Muslim. If you were Muslim following Islam then Ismailism would have been an open religion and not a secret religion, where non-Ismailis aren't allowed to enter in the temple J.Khana. So how do you expect the world to accept him as an Imam who doesn't allow the 'Conversion'. Who would be such a fool to convert to Ismailism a man-made religion by an atheist?

Do you deny that it is not a man-made religion?

It is proven by the changes made about 4-5 times, the flip flop every few years is the crystal clear evidence. Do we need to explain any more?

Also the Pandora's box is opened by this notorious zina and her gang members and her dogi slave Mukhtar an evil man leaving his Muslim wife and running after the cultic filthy woman.

I don't think he ever was a Muslim. You said::

"All Muslims follow the same Holy Qur'an! What we sell at our literature counters is the same as any other Quran (translations may vary!)"..

True all the millions of Muslims shia and Sunni follow the same Quran, but not Ismailis. The GOD of Shia and Sunni is One Allah, but Ismailis god is Karim Aga and before him it was Sultan Shah. Their god changes every few years.

Ismalis are not following the Quran. In fact the Ismailis have never touched or read the Quran as per order of their atheist Karimi dajjal.

Quran is only used by the hypocrites who just display our Quran for the show, to cheat the Muslims that they are Shia Muslims.

Agakhan should be ashamed of lying about the religion of Allah.

Cheating the people is one thing but to cheat Allah is a criminal activity and a most dangerous heinous sin.

Tell me when was last you took Allah's name? Never.
Did you know about the Quran or did you display it in the Jamat khana or in the Library when you were in East Africa or any other country?

None of the Ismailis had any idea what the Quran was, never heard of it, until they came to the Western countries.

My parents and Grand parents died without knowing Allah or the Quran.

Never heard of these 2 divine names. They only knew khuda Agakhans.

Who can deny this truth? The hypocrites, liars, deceivers and fraudsters.

Your own Imam has forbidden to touch or follow the Quran, so what nonsense are you all talking about? You can keep all thousands of Qurans on the show; it doesn't matter as we know you have nothing to do with our Quran, Allah and Islam. That is also proven by the anti-Islamic, Ismaili practices in the Jamat khana.

Where there is no Allah, no Quran, no Muhammad SAWS but only one the mowla khuda karim Aga, praying to his Photo.

Isn't this practice a violation of the 1st Pillar of Islam? Who can deny it?

Quran is not for the display but to follow it as Allah's divine words, which is rejected by both your fake Imams-gods who have played a dirty game with us all. Their one and only one aim is to keep you all away from Allah and the Quran and just using you to earn money from you.

Any fool would understand it, except those who are possessed by the evil spirit the dajjal. We too were possessed but it is Allah's Grace that HE rescued us from the cult and gave us an entry in Islam.

Do you know the difference between Islam and Ismailism?
The difference between day and night. Water and wine. Honey and poison?. Rasool SAWS gave us Honey but Agakhans gave us the poison. Learn the difference and then only you will know that you are not Muslim but Ismaili. Why don't you like your own religion Ismailism that you need to attach the fake ID of Islam and Shia Muslim to the cultic religion made up by the Agakhans?

However, we the converts have given you more than enough facts so now it is in Allah's hands to guide you to HIS path and save you.

It is all in HIS hands. and we pray to Allah for good people like you to bring you in Islam just as HE brought so many of us. Allahamdullillah.

Salaam/Peace
P.S.
I will try not to reply anymore of any emails as there is nothing else I can say to you to convince you, but only Allah can convince you.

Syria
Assad troops abandon their last military base in Syria's Idlib province
Courtesy Miami Herald

In the latest blow to the government of President Bashar Assad, the Syrian army retreated Tuesday from its last major base in northeastern Idlib province, abandoning the Mastoumeh stronghold to an Islamist-led rebel force.

The estimated 400 men withdrew with most of their equipment to nearby Ariha, a town of 70,000. The convoy of 20 or more trucks and at least seven tanks traveled over farm roads through olive groves starting in the middle of the night Tuesday. It came under rebel fire en route, resulting in the loss of several dozen soldiers and a number of armored vehicles, the pro-rebel Masar Press agency reported.

Not until Tuesday morning did rebels attack the camp itself, capturing three tanks and some large artillery pieces, according to a Syrian reporter at the scene whose name McClatchy is withholding for his safety.

Moderate rebel commanders, who were closely monitoring the situation but did not take part in the offensive, said negotiations had been going on for weeks to ensure a complete withdrawal of the army from what was once a key supply road linking Latakia, the province that is dominated by Assad's Alawite sect, with Aleppo, once Syria's commercial center and now contested between various rebel groups and the government.

It's not clear exactly what deal was struck between the military and the rebel forces, which include Jabhat al Nusra, al Qaida's affiliate in Syria, another extremist group, Jund al Aqsa, the Islamist group Ahrar al Sham and two others.

Heavy fighting continued Tuesday evening as rebels seized at least one checkpoint just outside Ariha and were fighting for a second.

With the loss of Mastoumeh, the government now controls only the Abu Duher airport in the east of the province and a hospital-turned-base in the town of Jisr al Shugour that has been under rebel siege for the past two weeks. Moderate commanders said they expect the government's troops to leave Ariha at their earliest opportunity because they no longer can be supplied by road.

EDITORS: STORY CAN END HERE

Mastoumeh is the latest in a string of defeats for the Syrian military in the past two months. Islamists led by fighters from Nusra seized Idlib, the provincial capital, on March 28. On April 25, a combined force that included U.S.-backed moderate rebels seized Jisr al Shugour, a strategic town on the main east-west highway. Two days later, a combined rebel force seized the Qarmeed base on the same road. Since then, rebel forces in different configurations have seized outposts and checkpoints every few days.

Although some foreign observers credit rebel gains to increased collaboration between three regional powers supporting the rebels - Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar - moderate commanders said the real explanation was closer to the ground. This is that all groups, with the exception of the extremist Islamic State, decided to put aside their past enmities and to organize coordinated assaults on the regime using a joint operations room.

Once a political indoctrination camp for elementary schoolchildren that the army seized in 2011 in the early days of Syria's unrest, the Mastoumeh base became a symbol of Assad's resort to violence in May of that year, when townspeople from Ariha marched on it, chanting, "The people want the government to fall."Troops opened fire, killing at least 11 civilians.

What the Major Media did not report about IS Victory in Ramadi. 400 Prisoners Released.
[Also latest info is that the Iraqi-Shiite military did fight hard in Ramadi but fled after losing more than 500 killed... New Trend]

 Ramadi

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Hundreds of jihadists, including high-ranking terrorist leaders, were released from a Ramadi prison when the city was captured by the Islamic State group, an Anbar security source told Rudaw.

"All of the 400 prisoners were affiliated with ISIS militias, including fighters and some dangerous leaders who have been previously held captive by Iraqi security forces in Ramadi," the source said Monday on condition of anonymity.

In a series of propaganda images released Monday via social media, ISIS fighters are shown celebrating the release from prison.

Latest IS Victories: Half of Syria now under Caliphate Control: 200 of Assad's Elite Troops wiped out in
[Courtesy Seattle Times: May 21] [Sent by Jamaat al-Muslimeen Virginia]

With the capture of Palmyra, the Islamic State militants now control half of Syria and most of the country's oil wells, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, making it the group with the most territory under its authority among the myriad factions fighting in the country's civil war.

Its vast terrain inside Syria stretches from the group's westernmost strongholds in Aleppo province to its core territory in northeastern Syria down to central Syria, with footholds in Damascus.

Palmyra's location in Syria's heartland offers the militants several important advantages, said Faysal Itani, a resident fellow at the Atlantic Council. The town can now be used as a launching pad to threaten government positions and supply lines south of Aleppo and east of Homs and Hama, and open up a new approach to Damascus, seat of Assad's power.

IS can also threaten regime supply lines to the eastern city of Deir el-Zour, where government forces are still holding out against the militants.

"If IS manages to cut off Deir el-Zour, it is likely that the city would fall, essentially ending regime presence in that province, and consolidating IS' core territory," he said.

The fall of Palmyra follows major setbacks for Assad in northern and southern Syria. "This is simply an indication of how overstretched the regime is," Itani said.

Most Notorious Prison broken by IS. Christian Prisoners too were Freed.

In taking Palmyra, IS also seized control of the notorious Tadmur Prison, freeing some of those imprisoned inside, said Bebars al-Talawy, a Homs activist. The government had already transferred thousands of detainees from the prison to a jail near Damascus as IS attacked the city, al-Talawy said. Thousands were believed to still be inside, he said, but he couldn't provide precise figures.

The prison survives in the collective memory of Syrians as the place where dissidents were held for decades and prisoners tortured.

A report by a local Lebanese station that 27 Lebanese prisoners, including some jailed since the 1980s, were among those freed from Tadmur triggered confusion in Beirut among families of missing Lebanese, many of whom believe their loved ones have been languishing in Syrian prisons for decades.

An amateur video posted online purported to show IS fighters inside the Tadmur Prison setting fire to a giant poster of Assad and cheering. The video and its location could not be independently verified but appeared genuine and corresponded to other AP reporting of the events.

Spiritual Journey: For non-Muslims and Muslims.
Until we truly understand "la ilaha," how can we understand "il Allah"?
by Sis. Karin Friedemann

Every single person born on this earth is a Divine Being. While Christianity teaches that all human beings are born flawed, Islam teaches that all human beings are born perfect, sinless.

All human beings have access to their Higher Self if they choose to seek it. Seeking refuge in your Higher Self does not mean that your Lower Self is not real. It just means that your selfish or satanic urges are less important to you. When you sprinkle a teaspoon of salt into your drink, it will take away the sweetness, but if you put a teaspoon of salt into your bath, it will not affect much. Imagine if you put a teaspoon of salt into the ocean, nobody would notice it at all! The best way to deal with evil in your personal life is to make it a very small part of your life.

Instead of worrying about our problems we have to get used to dealing with them and even planning ahead for them to arise.

"Those who are first on the battlefield and await the opponents are at ease; those who are the last on the battlefield and head into battle get worn out. Therefore good warriors cause others to come to them, and do not go to others," wrote Sun Tzu in "The Art of War," a Japanese classic from around 500 BC.

This could mean many things on different levels but those who are at peace with the concept that life is all about struggle are at ease, while those who delay are unlikely to attain any victory.

I open a page of the book by Lao Tzu named Tao Te Ching. "It is easy to maintain a situation while it is still secure."

Lao Tzu is said to be an older teacher of Confucius who was a Chinese philosopher also around 500 BC. Totally different country, same insight. We are most at ease when we are maintaining a situation or position, whether it's military, financial or emotional.

It's not that Asian knowledge is so unique or special but rather that it just makes sense when you think about it. Presumably, these sages were drawing upon centuries of past teachings.

The same thing when we read from the Quran. Although this book is only 1400 years old, it discusses stories and concepts that go back to the BC era. A very large portion of the Quran is dedicated to discussing the Laws of Moses and the Teachings of Christ. I think Moses was supposed to have lived about 2000 BC and Jesus around the year 0. The Buddha is also said to have reformed India from its paganism around 5 BC. The scriptural teachings of the Buddha and Jesus tend to overlap. The spiritual goal of selflessness seems to be the common path.

Shaykh Hakim Moinuddin Chishti writes in the book, "Sufi Healing," that "In its progression through life, the physical body passes through stages from infancy to youth, adulthood and old age. Similarly, the soul passes through specific evolutionary stages or stations."

These are described as the Station of Egotism, the Heart, the Pure Spirit, the Divine Secrets, the Proximity to Allah, and lastly, the Station of Union with the Beloved. There is some philosophical overlap between this and the 7 chakras, which are physical energy centers along the human spine. Knowledge of the chakras is essential for directing healing energy into specific realms. Direction of light into the crown chakra is said to be equivalent to spiritual enlightenment or God-consciousness.

Nowadays people are trying to find spiritual meaning beyond what their parents thought they should strive for. Even if they all agree that Paradise is the goal, their plan of action may differ.

"O chivalrous youth! If tomorrow you go to paradise and you look at it from the corner of your heart's eye, in truth, in truth, you will have fallen short of Adam's aspiration. Something that your father sold for a grain of wheat - why would you want to settle down there?" writes Said al-Din Farghani, a disciple of Ibn al Arabi's stepson, Sadr al-Din Qunawi, in the 13th century.

Therefore our entire idea of paradise could be suspect. We need to let go and experience something like spiritual exile and abandonment, until we find our true home. We can only do this by disbelieving all that we have ever been told. "La ilaha" means rejection of all false gods. It means repudiating this world and all its glittery offerings and falsehoods.

Until we truly understand "la ilaha," how can we understand "il Allah." The Asian concept of Taoism, for example yin-yang, gives us the language of balance and opposites. 'There is no god' is like the night. 'except Allah' is like the daylight. You need both for the 24 hour cycle to exist. It is just as important to doubt everything as it is to believe. Otherwise, your belief has no meaning.

Whether we are doing yoga or doing salat, the aim is spiritual Oneness. May we all be strengthened in our spiritual practices however small, so that we may see the Great.

Cleveland, Ohio
Cleveland Police Officer Acquitted of Manslaughter
By MITCH SMITH MAY 23, 2015 AOL News.

 Timothy Russell's windshield

The windshield of Timothy Russell's car was shown last month during Officer Brelo's trial.

A Cleveland police officer who climbed onto the hood of a car after a chase and fired repeatedly at its unarmed occupants in 2012 was acquitted of manslaughter on Saturday by an Ohio judge.

The trial of the officer, Michael Brelo, played out amid broader questions about how the police interact with African-Americans and the use force, in Cleveland and across the country.

Officer Brelo was one of several officers who shot at Timothy Russell and his passenger, Malissa Williams, during a chase through the Cleveland area on Nov. 29, 2012. The chase, which started in downtown Cleveland, began after reports of gunfire from the car; prosecutors said the noise may have been the car backfiring.

After the gunfire reports, over 100 officers pursued the car for more than 20 miles at speeds that reached 100 miles an hour. Police officers fired 137 rounds at the car after it was cornered, prosecutors have said, including 49 by Officer Brelo.

Other officers stopped firing after Mr. Russell's Chevy Malibu was surrounded and came to a stop, but prosecutors said Officer Brelo had climbed onto the car's hood and fired at least 15 rounds from close range. Mr. Russell and Ms. Williams, who were black, died of their wounds. Officer Brelo, 31.

Prosecutors said Officer Brelo's actions crossed the line from justifiable to reckless when he climbed onto the car's hood, but the judge disagreed.
Before rendering his verdict, Judge John P. O'Donnell of the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court spoke from the bench about widespread tensions between the police and African-Americans, mentioning Ferguson, Mo., and Baltimore.

"In many American places, people are angry with, mistrustful and fearful of the police," Judge O'Donnell said. "Citizens think the men and women sworn to protect and serve have violated that oath or never meant it in the first place."

But he said he would not let those sentiments cloud his verdict and found that Officer Brelo had reasonably perceived a threat from the car. The decision to continue firing from the hood was protected by law, he ruled, clearing Officer Brelo of all charges. The shooting was "reasonable despite knowing now that there was no gun in the car, and he was mistaken about the gunshots," Judge O'Donnell said.

"I reject the claim that 12 seconds after the shooting began, it was patently clear from the perspective of a reasonable police officer that the threat had been stopped," Judge O'Donnell said, contrasting the prosecutors' claims that the justifiable action ended when Officer Brelo climbed onto the hood.

Officer Brelo, who opted for a bench trial, had sat stoically throughout the four-week trial. On Saturday, he could be seen shifting in his seat, at times resting his head in his hands. At one point, he made a quick sign of the cross.

Patrick A. D'Angelo, one of Officer Brelo's lawyers, said his team was "elated" with the verdict, and he blamed an "oppressive government" for bringing the charges. "We stood tall, we stood firm," Mr. D'Angelo said, "because we didn't do anything illegal. We didn't do anything wrong."

Alfredo Williams, Ms. Williams's brother, criticized the ruling in an interview with Fox 8 in Cleveland. "This police should have went to jail for life for this," Mr. Williams said. "This is straight murder."

Officer Brelo's trial drew protesters, who cited the case as an example of overly aggressive policing in Cleveland. Last year, the Justice Department found a pattern of "unreasonable and unnecessary use of force" within the department. The verdict came as an investigation continues into the death of Tamir Rice, a 12-year-old black boy who was holding a replica gun when a Cleveland police officer shot him in November. That shooting, captured on video, has also garnered national attention and resulted in protests.

In closing arguments, Mr. D'Angelo said his client believed he was under attack when he fired on the car. "What would make him want to shoot through the windshield at another human being?" Mr. D'Angelo said. "Could it be that he was shot at? Could it be that he reasonably perceived that the occupants of the Malibu were shooting at him? That's what all the other officers perceived. That's what Officer Brelo perceived."

Mother's Day in America Should be Boycotted! Guess Why?
by Sis. Aisha [Jamaat al-Muslimeen]

This may be an unpopular thing to say but, I have my reasons.

The Hadith says that paradise rests at the mother's feet, which I interpret as motherhood being 2nd only to Allah (swt). However, as important as motherhood or parenthood is to Allah and in Islam, the Holy Qur'an says to pay your parents with kindness. Clothing, feeding, and sheltering a child, biological or adopted, does not come with a price tag. There is no price anyone can place on caring for another soul. So, the only way to repay your parents for what they have done when we could not do it for ourselves is to treat them with kindness.

But, that is not the type of society we live in is it? We live in a capitalistic society that has commercialized parenthood (Father's Day is coming up in June). People, so-called Muslims included, will be rushing to and from stores looking for gifts just to beat that deadline, whatever it may be, for that day. It is ridiculous!

Commercialization devalues a person. We live in a society where your value is based on how much money you generate for someone. Parenthood is such a responsibility and that should not be taken lightly.

According to the capitalistic male chauvinists, women should not have sports leagues of their own because they do not have the money-pulling power of their male counterparts. In most other countries, including Muslim countries, women have a sports league simply because the men have one. What's good for the gander is good for the goose. When you see things that way, the American capitalist logic is rather illogical.

Woman are only good for two things, according to male chauvinists: As mothers bearing their children and for providing sexual gratification. Some men have such a distorted view of women that they only place "value" on women they are having a sexual relationship with to the detriment of their own female family members!

These limiting male chauvinist philosophies are perpetuated by the mothers! There are many women who believe that it is a man's world and that women are to do whatever they can to accommodate them. The Women's National basketball Association (WNBA) has been trying, for some odd reason, to attract male chauvinist fans to their sport for years. These female athletes are convinced by male marketing executives that in order to attract male fans they must sell their sex rather than market their skill. Many female athletes, except for the lesbians who are already live a defiant existence anyway, are very insecure.

Feminism cannot defeat male chauvinism. As a matter of fact, they want to copy it! They feed into the commercialization of females as well by stating that being a wife or mother is like having a 9 to 5 job. Many of these feminists will state that wives and mothers should be making six figure incomes and are in dire need of a raise. Under capitalism being a wife and motherhood are professions!

Your self-worth should not be based on how others, especially the oppressor, label you. Reading the Holy Qur'an and the Authentic Hadith can increase your feelings of self-worth ten fold! Your confidence and self-esteem will get a serious boost. It is a freeing feeling to be happy in your own skin. Allah (swt) raises his human creation in high esteem (Qur'an Surah 94). This is the power of Islam to terminate such nonsensical beliefs.

Capitalism has permeated the very fabric of this society and it is rooted in greed. Adam Smith, the father of capitalism, stated that capitalism cannot thrive without greed. Mother's Day, Father's Day, Green Capitalism, which is money-making ventures with a conscience, are all based on greed, not good intentions.

I may be accused of being cynical but, I understand that nothing is sanctioned by this government or any politicians unless there is money to be made from it:

Charter schools - Benefit corporations
Obamacare - Benefits the insurance companies
Pharmaceuticals - Remember when former Texas Governor Rick Perry mandated that every every girl 13 years and older get the HPV vaccine, in 2007? Well, he had received tens of thousands of dollars from Merck, the manufacturer of the HPV vaccine, since 2000. During his re-election bid, which he won, Perry stated that the mandate was a mistake. Many politicians are slaves to lobbyists.

1 Timothy 6:10: "For the love of money is the root of all evil." Holy Qur'an (102: 1-2): "Abundance diverts you, until you come to the graves."
