How DuPont Poisoned America's Heartland
A video on the More Perfect Union YouTube Channel revealed the DuPont Corporation's efforts to conceal the extremely poisonous nature of yet another one of its chemicals: PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). It is referred to as a "forever chemical" and is found in nonstick pans, dental floss, computer chips, shampoos, etc.
PFAS contamination has also affected America's farmlands.
Research proves that DuPont knew about the dangers PFAS posed, but manufactured it anyway. PFAS has been very difficult to eliminate, probably because of the slow action of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and politicians.
The EPA has very limited power to enforce or even punish violators, and fines are often meaningless to these billion-dollar conglomerates.
As a Muslim, it is very difficult for me to view any human-made item as indestructible. But if government officials focused on people instead of profits, maybe they could develop effective ways of rendering "forever chemicals" harmless.

Mahmoud Khalil's Continued Fight
He's coming home....No, wait, he's not coming home... Mahmoud Khalil's legal drama continues on.
The American Civil Liberties Union has joined Mahmoud Khalil's fight for his release. But, yet, another federal judge, on Friday morning (6/13), made a ruling, and it was that the Trump Administration could continue detaining him. An earlier ruling this week ruled that Mahmoud had to be released, but left the door open for the Trump Administration to appeal that decision.
Mahmoud's baby son was born in April, in his absence. He has also been denied any opportunity to be reassigned to a detention facility that is closer to his family without any reason given.
The Last of the Gang of Four
Friday, 6/13, was the funeral of former New York Congressman Charles Rangel. His service was held at St. Patrick's Cathedral on 5th Avenue in Manhattan. Former President Bill Clinton spoke of Rangel's power and influence. He mentioned Rangel's efforts in creating the Empowerment Zone, which was money that was supposed to bolster entrepreneurship among Harlem residents in the early 2000s.
Instead, what I saw were mega stores, such as Disney, Old Navy, and others, being welcomed to 125th Street, the most profitable thruway in Harlem. Many black proprietors could own businesses anywhere but there. The Empowerment Zone money was used to lure these stores to Harlem.
Congressman Rangel was brought in to replace the true son of Harlem, Congressman Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Congressman Rangel had many Harlem critics but remained in Congress until he retired. He was one of many black faces in high places, which is how talk show host Bob Law referred to some Black politicians.
Congressman Rangel, Senator Basil Paterson, Mayor David Dinkins, and former politician and businessman Percy Sutton were known as the Gang of Four. They have been blamed (or credited) with ushering in gentrification in Harlem.

Impostors and people of violent hidden agendas are fast moving into power politics. WE, the People become victims of consequential anarchy of barbarism, killings, crimes against humanity and genocide. Gaza and Ukraine portray the reality.
Those most feared and hated assume contemporary leadership and further fallacy of reason and reality. How would you interpret the meaning of the UNO Charter, Magna Carta and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights? Humanity and civilizations do not grow out of the moral mire of conquests, horrors of wars and occupation.
Were the events of WW2 not enough to redirect political agendas and priorities for human unity and peacemaking? Ukraine, Gaza and other parts of Palestine and turbulent Kashmir remind us what can go wrong with political thinking, ignorance and crimes against humanity.
Often wrongdoers intimately comfort and support one another.Truth about politics has not permeated public understanding that most leaders are egoistic and erroneous in thoughts and behavior. Resistance against tyranny and false leadership echoes universal consent and order. We, the chief creation of God, are a moral being unlike other species, equipped with knowledge, wisdom and language to communicate.
Life is a trust and a trial and effective leaders are always people-oriented, open to listening and learning and able to change the direction when facts of life warrant a navigational change to become a role model of moral characteristics not evil-mongering.
Those claiming to be successful like Netanyahu and Trump live in conflicting time zones as success achieved at the cost of blindness to horrors of war and calamities of human degeneration are monsters of time and history.
They are not a role model of leadership to be followed but to be cursed by succeeding generations. The Divine Revelation (The Quran: 43:53), speaks of Pharaoh who" sneered at his people, yet they obeyed him and they were immoral folks."
PM Netanyahu emboldened by President Trump knows no limits to inordinate transgression against innocent people of Palestine as both make the "Greater Israel" a dream to come visible soon on the geo-political horizon.
The UNO and global community is waiting and watching the drama of daily killings, horrors and continued bombardments as the new normal. Just across Gaza, 2.5 million people face situations of life and death while the imposters of peace and globalization make phony statements.
The mankind continues to be victimized by the cancerous ego and cruelty of the few global warlords. Animals do not commit massacre of their kind and species, nor set-up rape camps for the war victims, the authoritarian led wars against humanity have and continue to do so at an unparalleled global scale without being challenged by any global organizations or leaders.
Torture and massacres of innocent civilians are convenient fun games to be defined as "collateral damage" and a statistic. Perhaps, they view humanity just in digits and numbers, not as the living entities with social, moral, spiritual and intellectual values and progressive agendas for change and sustainable future-making. Every beginning has its end. It is just that most powerful nations have failed to learn from living history.
The complicity and failure of Arab-Muslim leaders to stop the Israeli onslaught on Gaza represents the Arab societies without any thinking hubs and responsible leadership for change and remedial actions. The mindless oil exporting Arab leaders trying to buy wisdom with wealth and signed trillion of dollars agreements with the US knowing well war is racketeering business.
The defense arrangements simply ensure the protection of authoritarian tyrants, not the people of the region.They buy unknown safety from enemies and deny people their rights to be self-sufficient in faith and security.
Failure of International Institutions to Safeguard Mankind If the UNO had responsible and proactive leadership, the Secretary General and the Security Council should have planned a preventive humanitarian force to protect the people of Palestine and offer food and urgently needed humanitarian assistance for their survival.
Not so, they make fake statements and live happily as well paid and well fed class of oligarchy. Is the UNO complicit in making of genocide across Palestine? Are the people of Gaza and Palestine for trades-in to the Arab-Muslim leaders? All of the UNO's Charter, Geneva Conventions and the Universal Declarations of Human Rights appear in books just in dry ink and meaningless words.
