MILLION DOLLAR FUND RAISER for ISRAEL In ANN ARBOR-Yipsilanti Marriott, MICHIGAN: Starbucks chief was main speaker

[Excerpted from Arab American News of December 4-10. Courtesy of Blaine in Al-Awda list. "The event was sponsored in part by Ford Motor Company. Howard Schultz, Chairman and CEO of Starbucks Coffee, was the featured speaker. Schultz has long been a lightning rod of controversy due his support of Israel. In 1998 he was honored by the Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah with "The Israel 50th Anniversary Friend of Zion Tribute Award" for his services to the Jewish state in "playing a key role in promoting close alliance between the United States and Israel". The Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah funds the largely discredited website honestreporting.com and has been accused of illegally funding Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's Likud party.

"The Jewish Federation claims that it initiates, coordinates, and supports activities here at home and around the world that strengthen Jewish life.

REAL SHOCKER: from Jamaat al-Muslimeen outreach

VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS OF VIRGINIA INNOCENT MASAUD KHAN:

The U.S. government has sent Masaud Khan to a prison which is about NINE HOURS drive from the home of his family in Rockville, Maryland. Even a monthly family visit is very difficult while an attorney's visit is extremely expensive. We are trying to get more information from his family who live in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Masaud Khan, 33, is the son of a Pakistani father (deceased) and a White Muslim American mother. Readers might remember that he was sentenced by a Judge to NINETY YEARS in prison for showing symbolic support for the Kashmiri freedom struggle. It was a BOGUS case and on the basis of a plea bargain from another Muslim who knew Masaud, he was given this horrendous sentence. The most which came out against him was that he went to the Kashmir front with Lashkare Taiba and fired three symbolic shots towards the occupied territory. The Judge reportedly said that she was giving him THIRTY YEARS for each shot he fired! We want to re-open this case. It is obvious injustice. We'll come back to you with more on the case. Letters of Islamic concern [spiritual only] should be sent to:

Jamaat al-Muslimeen recommendation

IMAM ZAKIUDDIN SHARFI, originally from Karachi, Pakistan, gives powerful khutbas in New Jersey. In his latest khutba, received on audio tape, he reminds Muslims of their definite return to Allah [The Qur'an 3:185-187]. Imam Sharfi urges Muslims who are afraid of the FBI to remember that they are under surveillance by the ABI [Allah's Bureau of Investigation] which no one can escape. They should fear ABI more than FBI! Imam Sharfi is fluent in Urdu, Arabic and English. His strong accent makes his speech even more unforgettable. He teaches that according to Hadith, the cataclysmic destruction of Israel is inevitable. Montreal Perspectives By Jalaluddin S. Hussain [The writer is NT's veteran correspondent.]

Anti-Kofi Annan rantings+Same Sex marriage +Kashmir

Daily, The Gazette, Montreal, in its December 12, 2004 issue, has an article by an ultra-conservative and pro-Zionist writer, George Jonas. His article is headed : "UN has become tragi-comedy of scoundrels". He rants in this article against the Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, because the U.S. Senate sub-committee's co-chariperson, Norm Coleman, looking into the U.N.'s oil-for-food program in Iraq, called for Kofi Annan's resignation and Jonas agrees with Coleman, hundred percent!.

UN should be reformed but on American terms

In his article, George Jonas seemed to convey the impression that the U.N should be reformed in such a way that the membership of the U.N. does not resist the American unilateralism and hegemony, as they can do now. He also wants that "dysfunctional dictatorships" should not be in a position to "punch above their weights"!

UN is not an American baby!

George Jonas, please come out clear about what do you really want? Do you want that only U.S. should have the veto rights in the Security Council and other members should keep their mouth shut? What do you think about the Saudi king, Egyptian President and Colombian strongman? Is it that so long as these characters toe the American line, everything is fine? I wish you answered these questions in the newspaper in which you write your regular column - the National Post of Canada. And mind you, so long as the majority of the UN membership is in favour of the moderate Kofi Annan, Uncle Sam cannot dislodge him. Perhaps, the UN Secretary General's only fault is that, in the case of Iraq, he has not been very forthcoming and this attitude may sound his death-knell, in the end!

Canadian Supreme court rules in favour of same-sex unions

It is the sign of times: The Canadian Supreme Court, comprising of nine judges, including a woman judge, have unanimously ruled that same-sex civil unions can be considered as legally-constituted marriages. And surprisingly, most of the print and electronic media in Canada also endorsed this ruling! Daily The Gazette, in a recent editorial headed: "Supreme Court simply affirms reality", concludes: "It is time to acknowledge same-sex marriage is an idea whose time really has come". It may be mentioned that the Courts in the six Canadian provinces and one territory (Yukon) have already validated same-sex marriages. Also, if recent polls are to be believed, the majority of Canadians, who were asked about the validity of same-sex marraiges, voted in affirmative. If my grandmother were alive today, she would have simply remarked, in bewilderment and astonishment: "Doomsday is near, very near, son!!"

Toronto Kashmir Conference demands deadline

An international two-day Peace Conference, organized by the International Kashmir Alliance, was held in Toronto, on November 27 and 28, 2004. It was addressed by a number of political leaders from India, Pakistan and both parts of Kashmir. A number of Canadian politicians, including some prominent parliamentarians, also spoke on the Kashmir problem. Prominent among those who presented their papers were, Umar Abdullah, a member of the Indian Parliament and a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mir Hasil Bizenjo, a former MNA and Secretary General of the Pakistan National Party, Justice Ali Mohammed Mir, Chairman of the Human Rights Commission of the Indian-controlled Kashmir, Derek Lee and Jim Karygiannis, of the Liberal Party and members of the House of Commons. The speakers and the participants of the Conference were united in their demand that both the countries, India and Pakistan should aim at agreeing on a deadline, to resolve the Kashmir dispute and thus help in the establishment of durable peace in the Himalayan region.

LETTER IN DEFENSE OF "IMAM" W.D. MUHAMMAD

Gorillas in the Midst

by Khalid Abdullah Islam
Another eye witness present at the Public Address
of Imam W. Deen Mohammed at
Lincoln University
RE: I request the Editor of Newtrend Magazine print this in the next edition of his online magazine.

H.Q. 2:6 As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe.

4:76 Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah, and those who reject Faith Fight in the cause of Evil:
So fight ye against the friends of Satan: feeble indeed is the cunning of Satan.

The article written and sent to New Trend magazine by an unnamed student of Lincoln University is an unjust attack on Imam W. Deen Mohammed.

It's filled with statements of intellectual dishonesty that clearly demonstrates a mind that has already a pre conditioned bias.

It's no wonder he hides his name and states he is bitter and filled with disappointment.

The article is a very weak and dishonest attempt to put down the Imam, his person and his teachings as the words provides incredible fact twisting, and engages in character assassination centering on one statement the Imam made.

It's clear to me that the writer doesn't possess the mentality nor the spirit to understand what the Imam is teaching and sadly, doesn't want to understand.

What is even more sad and disturbing is the fact that the unnamed student has found a home at New Trend magazine, and in it's editor, a companion to support and spread malicious, unsupported, irresponsible scandalous gossip against a righteous man of G-d.

This type of pure nonsense is representative of pagan behavior that if one studies history has been displayed time and time again in the history of man.

For all who believe in G-d and the Last Day. Prophet Muhammed is the Model Human being, the prayers and the peace be on him.

For your information, that's what sallallaahu'alaihi wasallam exactly means! The prayers and the peace be upon him, not peace and blessing be upon him (PBUH) that we see all the time. This saying, peace and blessings upon him is nice and acceptable, however we have accepted that translation from writers whom English is a second language. Writers whom made English translations of the Qur'an, we have just trusted that their translation is proper.

The Imam has made translation of the Arabic into English and has not made a mistake.

Another quick lesson the Imam teaches, in our Book, The Holy Qur'an we never see the word Islam. What we see is Al-Islam. That exactly what Allah says in His Book, Al-Islam. Nobody from overseas taught us that. Imam Mohammed taught them and us that!

When we look at Prophet Muhammed's true life story, we see when he made a statement, there were members of his family, members of his tribe and just people out in the community calling him disparaging names, calling him crazy. They thought that they were so right in their ugly behavior, but clearly they were wrong.

We know of a woman, a neighbor of Muhammed, who would place her debris in the Prophet's path as a protest to his statements. She thought this behavior righteous!

We hear the story of Umar, who for five full years was a dedicated negative critic of the Prophet. He thought he was right to make a move to actually kill Muhammed.

If your following the logic being presented here, what this young student is doing is nothing new and nothing to get excited about.

I was there. I have an eye witness account to provide too.

The Imam simply said, that Allah said in the Qur'an that Muhammed, the prayers and peace be upon him, is His Last Prophet, He (Allah) never said Muhammed is the last messenger. The Imam also provided additional comments to that statment as a support and proof of what is just plain common sense.

What the Imam said about Prophet Muhammed is not new to his students, followers and those in association with his ministry.

Clear and concise comments to bring to the audience a higher appreciation and value what Allah has given to us as His creation.

The Imam is a warrior for peace.

All the Imam is teaching is a return to common sense. In his own words the Imam says:

"I am trying to talk us into common sense, into the common intelligence that G-d created the baby with. Though we get away from that good common sense intelligence, when we get into this city life.We need to get back to where we think with good common sense, think truthfully, think beauty and think love. The city is so much in our way, that we think ugly and think hate and sickness and violence. So let us come back to ourselves".

In closing, you may wonder why I put in the subject area of this reponse to this awful, shameful and unislamic article, the title, "Gorillas in the Midst".

5:60 Say: "Shall I point out to you something much worse than this, (as judged) by the treatment it received from Allah. those who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath, those of whom some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil;- these are (many times) worse in rank, and far more astray from the even path!"

As I am one who attended this lecture, I know there was an opportunity for the young student to ask the Imam for clarification of the statement that G-d never said that Muhammed was the Last Messenger, but G-d does say that Muhammed the Last Prophet.

In fact the Imam graciously answered every question after his lecture in the Q&A portion of the program. He waited untill no one else from the audience had a quetion to ask of him.

If the student had a problem with the Imam's statement, all he had to do is ask. Even if he disagreed or felt uncomfortable with the statement, again, he should have taken the excellent time to ask the person who was there to answer him, Imam W. Deen Mohammed.

Instead he engages in back stabbing, character assassination and behavior totally unislamic, behavior that he is not even ashame of!

That's a curse of Allah on such people. They have the form of human beings, but their behavior is like that of ignorant animals such as snakes, pigs and gorillas. There are in our midst and have no idea how shameful they act.

Don't you see them?

REBUTTAL by the Editor

W.D.'s KUFR is Still Kufr: He has Misunderstood the Qur'an. Bush Supporter Has Shown his True Identity.

New Trend usually publishes critical letters without comment. However, this one concerns a matter of faith and disbelief central to Islam and should be clarified.

W. D. Muhammad should have personally answered the criticism we published. No one is too big in Islam to refuse to answer. Answerability and accountability are part of Islam.

Khalid has spent his letter attacking the EYEWITNESS who stated that W.D. opposed the Islamic belief that there will be NO messenger after Muhammad (pbuh). In his speech W.D. did not explain what was the basis of his claim. Hence he stands accused of kufr.
Now Khalid has given an explanation. He writes:

"The Imam simply said, that Allah said in the Qur'an that Muhammed, the prayers and peace be upon him, is His Last Prophet, He (Allah) never said Muhammed is the last messenger. The Imam also provided additional comments to that statment as a support and proof of what is just plain common sense."

Khalid probably does not realize that his explanation too is KUFR. This is not the first time in Muslim history that someone has tried to bring in a new messenger after Muhammad (pbuh) by trying to distort what Allah says in the Qur'an.

Here is what Allah says in the Qur'an says:

"Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets. And Allah has full knowledge of all things.." [33:40]

The verse is not saying that he is not the last messenger or that there will be messengers after him. Idiomatically, this verse covers the entire gamut of revelation from Allah to human beings, be it to Prophets or Messengers. So the "seal" of the prophets, means that the "naba" or news coming from Allah has been completed and Muhammad (pbuh) is the seal on the message to show the completion of the revelation for all times.

The Qur'an makes it clear that the message from Allah has been perfected and completed. Allah says in the Qur'an:

"...This day have I perfected your religion [way of life] for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion [way of life]..." [5:3]

It is true that "messenger" can mean "anyone who brings a message" but Muhammad (pbuh) was not a messenger in that ordinary sense. He was chosen [hence the name "mustafa" for him] to bring Islam to completion and perfection. Hence any interpretation which plays with the word "messenger" to claim that there can be a messenger receiving revelation from Allah after Muhammad, pbuh, is clear KUFR.

In verses of the Qur'an where someone may not be sure of the meaning, one can seek clarification in the Hadith. Here is what the Prophet Muhammad [pbuh] says in his authentic Hadith:

" Surely ar-risala and un-nubuwwah are ended. There will be NO MESSENGER and NO PROPHET after me."
[Hadith in Tirmidhi's Jami', and in Ahmad ibn Hanbal's Musnad.]

This is not an issue on which there is any difference of opinion among Muslims. In another Hadith, Muhammad (pbuh] said:

"...I have been sent as a Messenger to ALL creation and the chain of prophets ends with me."
[Sahih of Muslim, Jami' of Tirmidhi,Sunan of Ibn Maja.]

So if, as all Muslims believe, he is a messenger for the entire world, the question of another messenger after him does not arise. Any such belief would mean that Muhammad's [pbuh] message was incomplete and that it did not cover the entire world [particularly America], and that is KUFR.

Khalid has tried to condemn the Muslim who wrote about W.D.'s kufr. That eyewitness Muslim is following Islam in its completeness and purity. He accepts the fact, which all Muslims accept, be they Shia or Sunni, that there will be no messenger after Muhammad (pbuh). Also, our eyewitness is a learned Muslim, well versed in Qur'an and Hadith at a young age. Khalid has tried to compare our witness to an "ape." This would mean that for Khalid, his leader, W.D., is messenger of God [naoozubillahe min zalik] and he considers a critic of W.D. as non-Muslim.

It is evident from the two verses Khalid quoted in the beginning of his letter that he considers a critic of W.D. as non-Muslim which again proves the Kufr of W.D. and of those who follow him blindly. These people do consider W.D. a messenger after Muhammad (pbuh).

As for fighting for Islam, W.D.'s record is ZERO. W.D. and his followers are KNOWN FOR SUPPORTING the U.S. power structure. W.D. admires George Bush and keeps his supporters from opposing America's bombing of Afghanistan and Iraq. They have never stood up to the White House. In fact W.D. loves to be in the White House to break bread with the "Great White Master!"

W.D. Muhammad admitted in his "resignation" speech that he WORKED FOR THE STATE DEPARTMENT of the U.S. In fact he has published "honorable mention" of his services to the State Department in his own paper "Muslim Journal."

In the case of Imam Jamil al-Amin, W.D. Muhammad has never said a word of Islamic brotherhood.

[This acceptance of America's power structure is SHIRK. We will come to the issue of W.D.'s SHIRK later.]

And this business of writing God as G-D is borrowed from the Jews who believe that God's name is too holy to be mentioned. Why not say Allah, which is the word used in the Qur'an?

New Trend has published Khalid's ENTIRE LETTER, including the headline he devised for it. Can he do the same for us and publish this response in W.D.'s paper "Muslim Journal" ?
